Oh my goodness. I just had my first massage in years. Besides feeling a little nauseated from the toxins right now (I’m drinking lots of water), I think this is going to really help my pain and general well-being. I’m going to have at LEAST one a month. I can totally justify it…
Oh you lucky lady! My husband was out of town for a week but when he got home yesterday he did rub my sore shoulder. Makes a lot of difference. You go (get a massage) girl!!
Athena,
Great post, thanks for this. I just read this to my husband and he said I should start this. I'm glad you feel the benefits from this : ) Trisha
Be nice if we could prove the benefits of massage in medical treatments so it would be covered.
Flutterby,
I didn't think of that, so true! Trisha
Hi Athena,
I used to have them years back and i highly recommend them to any member for releasing stress...that's why our Athena is rubbing our noses in it. LOL
Mine was stopped because i had a seizure and fell off her table and the doctor's surgery room was underneath, he went mad when i came round and stopped them...if they're helping mate all the better.

I dis this for years and it helped tremendously then I lost my insurance. The massage feels great improves circulation and gets rid of toxins. Be sure to tell the therapist you have Lupus so they can adjust the amount of pressure used. :) I am so glad you are doing this for yourself. XXOO Julie

My joints hurt worse today than they ever have. I could hardly get out of bed, and walking down the stairs was excrutiating. The pain was horrible, and my guess that it was from the toxins released from last night’s massage. I spent most of the day in bed. I don’t think that this will happen every time. I’m certain that it was because it was my first one in years. I’ll let you know how the next one goes. I really think that in the long run that they will be beneficial. Basically, I just wanted to warn anyone who hasn’t had one in a while that this could possibly happen the next day as a side-effect. Feeling better now, though, after pain meds and lots of rest. Hugs to all of you!
My Husband does this for me and it really makes a difference. But Im looking into yoga as well!
It really does make a difference. We should treat ourselves more often and more insurance companies should cover it. I need to do it more than a couple of times a year myself. Be sure to drink that water.
I had a similar experience 15 years ago, I had a chiropractic adjustment, then a 20 minute massage then another adjustment after a car accident so I believe what you're experiencing is from the toxins.
Get plenty of fluids, and I hope you're better! Trisha

Oh, a massage sounds wonderful! I've been afraid that they might break something in my neck since I have arthritis in my C3, 4 and 5 vertebra. My husband has suggested that I go for one and see what happens. Think I'll see about it!
Hope you're feeling better today Athena and thank you for suggesting this!
Love you,
Lori
Feeling so much better today!!! Certain now that it was the release of the toxins. Still drinking that water!
Athena,
I'm glad to hear that, and thanks for reminding me - I haven't had any water today : (
I'm anxious to see for myself. Trisha
Hello Athena,
Sorry you was in pain the next day but it can hurt you...i have a friend online who as massage for her shoulders and she doubled the next day and she goes monthly for it but she always says after several days she suffers nothing for a good several weeks then pain starts more when she's due again.
I am pleased your feeling better today and i hope next time it relieves you even better.

Oh yeah - can I relate! I try to have acupuncture once every two weeks and when I can afford it I'll throw in a massage. 2 hours on the table is absolute heaven! I know the combination helps tremendously! Just wish my insurance covered it.

Wow - my heart hurts for you! Are you not able to get the flu shot? Hope you're resting and taking it extra easy right now!
I'm ok - am noticing fatigue and achy joints these days. The weather is changing and I know that's what's causing it - Lupus and cold weather don't play well together.
Hugs to you!
