Shaking or Tremors

As I've said in previous posts, I have not been diagnosed with Lupus yet. My current diagnosis are Arthralgia (joint pain) and Myalgia (muscle pain), RLS, anxiety, depression and anemia.

About a year ago, on rare occasion, when I would be at work typing my pinky finger on my left hand would start shaking uncontrollably. I never gave it any thought as to possibly being related to an autoimmune disease at that time. However, no that it seems to happen more often and it seems like it lasts longer and shakes even harder when it does happen, I am starting to wonder what this could be. It is no longer just my pinky finger on my left hand. It has happened on my right hand too and has happened with different fingers at different times. I'm beginning to wonder if this is something neurological. I will mention it to my rheumatologist at my next appointment but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone has had this who has Lupus.

Has anyone ever had this happen? If so, have you had a diagnosis? If so, what is the diagnosis so I can read up on it.

Thank you so much!

I haven't been Diagnosed with Lupus. But I can tell you I have tremors too all over my body and by that I mean My feet and legs and arms (sometimes) and hands that also includes my fingers. What usually causes it is Autonomic Nervous system involvement in Lupus. If you want to know more about Lupus you can call "The Lupus Foundation of America" at 1-800-■■■■■■■■ and request that they send you a bunch of information packets about it. They sent me like a lot of them.

Thank you, Angelwngs25.

I get them really bad when I’m trying to be precise at something I’m doing with my hands, occasionally I get whole body ones also

Your welcome.

I've only gotten them in my hands if I'm sewing or doing close work. I've never thought to find out what causes it.

My hands sort of shake when I pick things up. I’ve had at least three fingers that the tendons on the back of my hand have “slipped” so I think I have picked up things when I haven’t held on tightly enough. My doc says this is common with lupus, from inflammation

Wellll, this evening my right thumb shook for about 5 minutes. This was the first time it’s happened to any fingers on my right thumb. :frowning:

Jane,
Yikes, that sounds painful! Sorry to hear that.

I’m newly diagnosed with lupus and have been having hand tremors and general “shakyness” I originally thought it was just general weakness from being sicker and not eating as much. It happens a lot at work

Well my experience is that my legs will start shaking, making it difficult to walk. I can walk when this happens, it just looks funny and is embarrassing. My arms shake too but not as often as my legs, which is frequently. My Rheumy sent a consult with a Neuro doc. At that time there was no link made Neuro-speaking. It may be different for you. At this time for me, i have been lead to believe it is just part of my autoimmune issues.
