Rash?

I appaear to have broken out in a red blotchy rash all over my chest, arms and thighs. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?
I've been on prednisone for 5 months, aspirin for a year and methotrexate for the last month and a half? Could it be a side effect or just another lupus thing, or something else?

i think its just a lupus thing i always get rashes come up like that especially after being out in the sun... i sympathise with you i hate it when i get that rash it happens to me alot i dont think theres alot we can do about it just ride it out... im new to all this though so i dont know alot about it yet im still doing my research :) :) hope i helped

Thanks for the information. I assume it's just a lupus thing, it isn't itchy or anything. I guess if it gets worse i'll go speak to my rheumatologist. :)

yeah if its not itchy it wont be an allergy thing or anything... do you get that butterfly rash on your face?? i do i always look like im slightly flushed

I get the butterfly rash sometimes, but it's not too bad most of the time.

Hello ShadowFigment,

Are you under a Dermo for this as alot of members always suffer DLE with Lupus and being there's so many skin conditions with different involvement you do need to see one and bloods can be taken besides a biopsy to see what you have plus take pictures when it's occuring as it helps specialists incase it carms down.

I'm not seeing a dermo currently. Just my rheumatologist. I'll talk to my rheumatologist about it at my next appointment. I will take photos, the rash on my chest is a pretty embarrasing spot to have a photo of though. haha.

Take no notice of where they are but usually Rheumo's don't get involved so much with the skin as that comes under the field with a Dermo...it was my dermo who found out i had Lupus through my psoriasis mimicing ringworm...so see what your rheumo says as you need to find out.

I'll see what he says, if he doesn't seem too concerned or if it clears up by then i'll wait. If not i'll look into seeing a dermo soon i think :) yay more specialists -.-

See what he says but a Dermo would be best because by myself having DLE issues can get extensive if neglected but steriod creams are good for helping with rashes but with me it's gone past them now...your on about more specialists you can have my calendar if you like. lol :)

I'm pretty exhausted today but my rash appears to be clearing up, you can barely see it on my arms anymore and my chest isn't looking too horribly red. xx

Hello Mate,

Well i am please today has'nt been to bad regarding your rash and it's easing slowly because worry or stress alone can cause an instant outburst with them.

Just take things easy and pace your body..it's hard but as time goes on you'll learn triggers and what's coming plus how to react better.
