I know it's been a while since I"ve been on but it's a crazy world out here we live in and there aren't enough hours in a day.. However I still love and miss you all. My issue today is a nasty rash i got on the side of my face, by my mouth. I'm not sure what it is and I can't get in to see my doctor until tomorrow. It kinda looks like a wingworm but the nurse at my school said she didn't think that was it. It has me really nervous and I'm antsy until my appointment tomorrow... I know it seems like every little tic I blame lupus, but hey, it's usually the culprit, lol. thanks for listening
I understand how you feel. Especially being a former teacher, as you said "my school", sometimes I go to webmd.com and put in my symptoms to see the name and then ask my doctor when I go and see him. Lupus, is only a small part of the problem, I have learned. Since, we take medication that suppresses our immune system we are open to all kinds of infections and problems that if we weren't on Lupus meds we would not be susceptible too, but then we might be worse off with organ failure. So, I just weigh the odds and deal with it. See if you can cover it up until you see the doctor, if it worries you.
I cringe every time someone coughs, because it takes only a cough for me to get sick on these lupus meds. Then I stay sick for a while and don't become better so easily. Stay strong ok. Sometimes a rash is only a rash.
Torie, what did the Dr. say? I have an ugly rash too, and would like to know your diagnosis, maybe it will help me. It's more than just red sunburn type rash. It's raised red bumps. One Dr. said it's a tachycardia rash, the more my heartbeat goes fast, the worse it gets, but no other Dr. has ever heard of it and I can't find anything about it when I research it.
