My arms

Over the last few days I’ve had issue with arms. They stiffen first then a slow roll of pain from my shoulders down. This is a new symptom for me. I do notice it happens when I’m feeling stressed. Anyone else?

I've only been a member for less than a month and read the blogs and kept silent, but I have been having so much trouble with my arms that I felt I had to respond. I first went to a neurologist who ran electricity through my arms and the results were negative. No nerve damage. The vascular doctor ran three different tests with ultrasounds with negative results as well. I then went to a cardiologist who performed and echo and a stress test, also with negative results. These tests had the possibility of leading me in a direction of a diagnosis, but to no avail. It could have been any one of those and you should continue to check with doctors, one at a time. As for me, my rheumatologist thinks that it has to do with the fact that I have acute Raynauds. It affects my hands, arms, toes, nose and ears. I've been given a compound containing nifedipine which helps only somewhat. The arm episodes last for several minutes with pain, tingling and numbness and then slowly subside. I would ask your rheumatologist for the name of a vascular doctor start and then go from there. I wish you luck. I've had the arm problem for quite sometime with no real diagnosis and no real remedy. This hopefully is not the case for you. Most importantly, you must speak to your doctor. We can only make suggestions. Take care and feel well.

Wendy, thank you so much for sharing that. I’m still in early stages of diagnosis. It seemed to be mostly skin and joint issues till now.

For me it turned out to be two herniated disks in my neck. Got an epidural for the neck and the arms which are much better, but the neck is slightly sore. Originally thought that the numbness in my fingers was from the some autoimmune neuropathy.

You got to hold on.

Oh snap! The neck, that’s a trouble spot for me. Don’t know why I didn’t connect it. That could be it

I never thought a neck problem either!! I'm going to check on that. Thanks guys!!
