I have just started getting blister-like lumps under my skin, near the finger joints. They are circlish, about 1-1.5cm round, quite sore and yet sometimes itchy.
Do any of you experience these...and any ideas what they might be?
Hi Dkel,
I get little blister like sores, but just to my first 3 fingers. They can be quite painful but even with extracting fluid out, they are not better. I showed to my P cP, rheumy n have seen a dermal , my PCP gave me an ointment to put on but if wipes right off or I have to cover w/ bandaids so impractical. It’s part of Lupus, just another fun symptom. I also get dark brownish spots near. Nails. So you may see those too. Let me know if you get a magical cure for these finger sores. Good Luck!!
I have something on fingers as well. I thought they were blisters but they became hard more like calluses, when I showed to my rhuemy he called them calcinosis cutis which is calcium deposits. Google it if you get a chance and see if that may be what you have going on.
Yes I have had this blistering on fingers. Very painful and seems to get itchy as it gets better. Neurological I am told. I use burn cream or lidoderm cream.
I actually have about 4 of them going on at present. They do itch and are painful. I was told by my rheumy not to mess with them (popping). They will eventually dry up and may cause cracking of the skin in that area which can be quite painful. I believe mine have appeared because I am in a flare at this time. Too much sun can bring them on as well. The lidocain ointment is a good idea as is a cortisone cream.
Yes, I get them, they are actually my first sign that a flare is coming on. It might not mean the same in your body, because we are all so different. I don't know the exact cause and no Dr. will take time to even care about such a thing, so I just live with them and sometimes use cortisone on them. Mine burn like acid inside and sometimes are quite deep.More inflammation.
I have never had them near finger joints but I do have these little bumps from my elbow to my wrist they are painful and VERY itchy. I have to remember bot to scratch because if I do I get a rash that looks like blood blisters in the area where the bumps are under my skin. My rheumy has no idea what they are. I don't know if this helps but maybe between the two of us we can piece together what it is.
I get itchy /painful small blisters on the low neck, upper back often but never on the fingers or hands… I have had itchy, dry, peeling around the tip of my fingers and nail beds but it might have been atributed to cytoxin chemo therapy?? I always have hydrocortisone and zinc oxide handy though and using 1 or both could be helpful in your situation:)
I had cytoxin therapy about ten years ago and I don't recall any dryness and peeling around my nail beds{I DO REMEMBER BEING BALD!} anyway back to the lumps and bumps I still have them and still don't know what they are but when they itch really bad t take a Benadryl and use some over the counter cream.Sorry I was not able to help much but I have a apt with a different doc and I'll ask him what he thinks and if I get a answer besides "I don't know" I will let you know.
I have small white blisters kind of underneath the skin of my hands - actually had one biopsied last week and will have the results next Thursday - will keep you posted!
I get these too but they itch. After awhile, they dry up and peel. I have had this since a teenager. I don't know if I am allergic to something or if it is the Lupus.
I had them before I started treatment mainly on the palms of my hands and since I didn’t know the sun also caused them but since ai started my meds they dried up and went away in a week
I am new to all of this so Hello to you all from ptpsr. I too get these small little itchy blister like thing on my fingers and your discussion has given me some insight. As I said I am newly diagnosed with lupus/sjorgren''s so I am learning.
I get these on my hands...very itchy! I scratch them and after awhile they dry up and then the skin peels. I have had these since I was a teenager and I do not know what causes them. I thought I was allergic to peaches! Then I thought I was allergic to strawberries. Now that I have been dxd with Lupus I am wondering if it is Lupus related.
