Yes I went through this about 9 years ago. Just be your self n be honest n you will get through it. You r disabled n struggle every day with this disease like the rest of us. You deserve to get disability. There r people that get it n don’t have anything wrong with them n then there people like us who r really sick n they give us a hard time. Go figure. Don’t stress u will be fine. Good luck.
awesome news!
Thank You, I also have a lawyer so i hope everything works out for me.

I have been to court three times to try for my disability, and was denied all three times. I think that the whole process is stupid, they have an LVN there whom will say that if you can't do the job that you used to do, then here are some jobs that you can maybe do, they send you to thier phsycotherapist and everything. To me they try to do everything to make sure that you are not playing the system. It is not enough money to live on, so why would anyone waste their time on such a petty thing as that. My lawyer said that it depends on the judge you get, some of them can be real assholes. They dont see Lupus as being a disability, but they dont understand what we go through. Mine went to the federal court and I am waiting for a decision now. Good luck! I will be praying for you, and if they deny you dont get discouraged, because it is not the end.
Rachel I am so sorry to hear about your mother, but are right no one cares about us but the good Lord, and that is why we have such a hard time getting our disability in which we so deserve and so did yur mother. But now she is with a higher authority and no one can over rule his decision. Be blessed.
No need to worry.......They ask a few questions which may take only 15 minutes or so...........:)
Oh, by the way, my name is Laura not lil old me.....:)
Hi Rachel , well good for you !!! It took me three years and one denial , and a appeal to Finally get it ,but thanks to the " heavenly Father" above my Faith was strong !!! Just know you want something and you want the world to know how it this Lupus has totally changed your LIFE!!! Express yourself to the fullest !!! You Don’t need a lawyer!!! That was me problem the first time around. Wishing you good luck and hope it’s in your favour…Beverly L.
i want you to know that I am here praying for you...i know this is one of the most stressful things we have to go through. i don't even l; like to check my mail anymore because it is full of bills and more bills and decreasing funds with every month. But hang in there and like Rachel says: breathe...sometimes i like to remind myself of stories like the five loaves and two fish or the wine from water...
breathe in: hope
breathe out: peace
breathe in: faith
breathe out: love
the one thing that they are looking for is CAN YOU DO ANY KIND OF WORK AT ALL. it really depends on the judge taht you get. There will be another person there he will tell the judge the kind of jobs he thinks you can do based on your education and experience. The judge that I had was really nasty, and I have been denied 3 times and it went to the federal court after my appeal, and I am waiting for their decision. Good Luck and Pray before you enter the court room and ask the Lord to lay hands on the judges mind and keep it open.
I love the alphabet of names idea!

I went through all of this as well. It is very frustrating and stressful. Did you have to see an independent doctor?
He said I was fine, nothing wrong. I had an excellent lawyer, this was settled the day before court, and I won.
The company was Manulife and they are first class jerks. My lawyer went on to become a Supreme Court Judge, so I then knew I had the best. He did not charge the usual fee either.
I found the most important thing to do is to keep records of everything you do, every appointment, every medication, keep a daily diary, mine were used as evidence, my lawyer said I had such great records, half of their work was done. I still keep a daily diary, recording everything. The weather, how I felt, slept, what I ate, what I prepared for dinner, how much work I was able to do in the house/garden. etc. I take this to my rheumy appt to help me remember when the flares were bad, as I only see her for 15 minutes every 6 months!
When I got the phone call in the morning before court a weight was lifted. I was prepared to go all way, because I knew I had great medical records and notes. Manulife even put a PI on me, what a joke. They gave up when they did not see me out of the house, they could not see in the house cause we have the windows tinted due to my eye sensitivity.
Just remember to keep the answers short, tell the truth, and hope your lawyer has great medical evidence. Get lots of sleep the night before, if you are having problems fallling asleep, try what I do. Start with the alphabet, Say A is for Alice, B for Barbara, C, Clara, D, Doris, E, Emily, F, etc. you will be asleep before you hit O. If you aren't then try mens names. It is something worth trying, as it works for me.
I hope you get the phone call I got, and all your worrying will be over,
Goldie

Well court seem to go well. My lawyer says he is pretty confident that I won. Judge says he will let me know by the end of this month. They couldn't come up with any jobs that I could do. No they didn't send me to one of their doctors. My doctor was very precise on my medical reports and the judge was very nice. Asked alot of questions. The only thing my lawyer is worried about is weather the judge will go back the 3yrs of waiting or just begin my disability last month when I turned 50. I don't care about that just as long as I'm approved. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Keep praying that I win.
We all need for our determination of our applications for disability to come out positive, I too am waiting for my approval and it is going on 3 years. But if we just remember that God is always in control of our lives, no matter what the outcome, he will provide:
Title: Hope vs. Fear
"Lo, I am with you all the appointed days" (Matt. 28:20, Variorum Version).
Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear. Rather look at them with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them. He has kept you hitherto; do you but hold fast to His dear hand, and He will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand, He will bear you in His arms.
Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow, and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, then, put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. --Frances do Sales
"The Lord is my shepherd."
Not was, not may be, nor will be. "The Lord is my shepherd," is on Sunday, is on Monday, and is through every day of the week; is in January, is in December, and every month of the year; is at home, and is in China; is in peace, and, is in war; in abundance, and in penury. --J. Hudson Taylor
HE will silently plan for thee, Object thou of omniscient care; God Himself undertakes to be Thy Pilot through each subtle snare.
He WILL silently plan for thee, So certainly, He cannot fail! Rest on the faithfulness of God, In Him thou surely shalt prevail.
He will SILENTLY plan for thee Some wonderful surprise of love. Eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard, But it is kept for thee above.
He will silently PLAN for thee, His purposes shall all unfold; The tangled skein shall shine at last, A masterpiece of skill untold.
He will silently plan FOR THEE, Happy child of a Father's care, As though no other claimed His love, But thou alone to Him wert dear. --E. Mary Grimes
Whatever our faith says God is, He will be.
