Dear Christie,

I am surely not a medical professional, not fully diagnosed with Lupus, and not personally familiar with your meds, but I did find a link that may be of help to you.

I also have to wonder if this could be something to do with the dialated pupils you just posted about? Maybe you should just call the Doc!

Hope I am being helpful, surely others will also respond to you.

As always, wishing you well,

SK

Hello Christie,

I have swollen eyes but mine comes off my sjogrens syndrome....but my main concern comes with your other thread of dilated pupils.

You really should see either your GP as soon as possible or ER because you may be having an allergic reaction to the prozac and with having Lupus this is'nt something to try and push aside because although they're antidepressents if they cause an infection then it can make you ill.

I do recommend putting a towel which as been rinshed in cold water across your eyes as it helps the swelling.

All my love Terri xxx

Hope you are feeling better, Christie!

Thank you i will Definitally contact my doctor first thing. I apreciate the feed back!

Hello Christie,

Did you get intouch with your doctor like you said?...if so what did he/she have to say about the cause of the swelling please keep we all updated please.

Love Terri xxx

Yes i did go the very next day, sorry its taken so long to respond, she told me that the prozac would not be causeing the eye swelling but she did say it would cause pupil dialation and that its normal. She thinks the swelling is from a flare up.

Hello Christie,

Thanks for getting back to us and letting we know and don't apologise for getting back late as we all have issues occur.

Well when i looked up the prozac it mentione nothing on it plus when i was taking them i did'nt have it either and you doctor may be possibly correct a flare starting up...unless the heat is causing an allergie for you with your eyes.

Here's a link on what symptoms we have when a flare is starting to kick off and it includes puffyness to the eyes.

That could possibly be it i know i shouldnt have been but i had to be in the sun for almost an hour straight, my eyes were burning So bad, it made them so dry. That might just be it, cause i dont believe its a flare up, im feeling fine at the moment.

Christie,

That's most likely done your eyes and also pollen causes it also because i have had swelling with hayfever over the years but i did'nt know i had Lupus then but as soon as i took a piriton which are great it does'nt take long for the swelling to removed and a cold cloth across your eyes but the rays off the sun would'nt help one bit either. xxx
