Puffy Eyes a Solution!

My eyes began to get very swollen, mostly visible under the eyes.. it was painful. I ask every doctor I went to what they thought the cause was. They looked at me with that deer in the headlight look with no idea other than inflammation and lupus. I was told by the eye dr. to put warm compresses on. It helped a little.

the eye dr. told me to use "Refresh Optive Advanced eye drops sensitive" for dry eye. I stubbornly waited ... for what I don't know!! I used them two days ago and every day since and my skin is not nearly as swollen under my eyes also the lubricant has helped my eyes feel so much better !!

Live and learn ! I am slowly letting go of my fear of medicine.

that's awesome to know, since I get really puffy and red eyes from time to time. thanks!

Thank you for sharing this, I'm going to try this.

Hi, I get this too. My rhumy said it was sjogrens and sent me to the eye specialist. She put me on restasis drops twice a day. It is caused by the dryness of my eye and all of the inflamation in my body. They were getting so bad that every couple days they would almost sswell shut. She also had me use artificial tears 5x a day. After about a month of the restasis my eyes started making more tears and the swelling stopped. If I go a day without the drops I can feel the swelling start.

Oh and before the restasis kikked in she also had me put a tiny dot of night ointment in my eye. It is like a petroleum jelly texture and it feels so good at night! My doctor is an eyelid specialist and an eye plastic surgeon. It had been a great breakthrough for me. I hope this helps you. :)

Great idea and I get the fear of meds too. It's hard putting more medications into your body when it already has so many problems. My biggest fear is having reactions to meds, I get hives taking everything but since starting placquenil it's not so bad now but I still hate taking meds. It'll get better I hope. Thanks for the info my eye bags sag really bad, that might help. Again, thanks!!

Thank you so much for letting us know about this product

I use warm compresses daily and I also gently massage, by running my finger from inner corner of my eye along the top lash line. I use this regime to avoid blepharitis. This link explains it very well. It works for me, and keeps the swelling away. I had a lot of itching and swelling going on, and I looked into a magnified mirror with a flashlight and I could see the base of my eyelashes were clogged up with something. So I started the regime and it all cleared away and the swelling and itching went away along with it.

Thank you all very much, excellent ideas!!!

thank you so much for this info....I will try these and share the info with a friend of mine with Sjogrens

BLESSINGS :)

Thanks so much for the information. I have Sjogren's as well as lupus and so have terrible dry eyes/ mouth. I was told specifically to use nothing like Visine as it's a vasodilator and simply makes eyes appear whiter for a time. But, she said for eyes something like what you are using is very helpful, I also use an eye mask with ice pockets (B, B & B) which helps for the short term evening out. Biotene products are great for the dry mouth ( I love the spray). Please keep sharing anything that helps, I am definitely going to try these.
