Sweating

I get that too, really wet at the back of my head! If I get in my hot car it's really bad especially when I run short errands in and out of the car. When I finally get in the house I feel the heat pulsating in my head. Then it takes me awhile to cool down. It was barely 78 degrees today and I felt like it was 98!!

I wish I could lose weight like I sweat!! Sweat just runs off me pretty much all the time

Well, I hate to say it....but I also have the same situation. And, I guess I'm also glad to know I'm not alone. I've given up make-up...because I just have to wipe it away. One more expense not to have to worry about!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your responses! My doc basically told me it was due to my weight but have never been a "sweater" and always been overweight. It suddenly started a couple of years ago. I hate going out and usually come home drenched. Strangers will ask me if I am ok or need to sit down. I no longer wear makeup and keep my hair very short. I have a hard time feeling pretty or good about myself. I have become a recluse.

you know i just hate it when they blame everything on being over weight! i too sweat and am over weight but it is the lupus, it just attacks us any ole place it decides too, i mean i just get drenched in sweat walking from my living room into the bedroom, and i am only about 20lbs overweight....i just wish they could come up with a darn pill that could get rid of the lupus, well maybe some day, i was also going to ask every one, a couple of years ago, i thought i saw something that said they had isolated the lupus gene, do any of you guys or gals know any thing about that? purrs..catspaw1955

I too sweat a lot through my head and neck but i thought it was because i have been going through menopause for 13 years now so maybe it is because of both things, i am going to ask my specialist next time i go i am always telling him about my hot flushes but maybe because they are so severe especially in the warmer weather it could be linked to my Lupus too.

For some reason I have just not made that connection so I am glad you asked this question. I have always been one of those that was always cold. I went through menopause over 20 years ago. Now, I sweat all the time- summer or winter. I suppose it is the Lupus. …why not. LOL. Just gotta laugh or you’ll cry. Thanks again for your question!

I have severe sweating too and have tried every anti perspirant and deodorant out there. I really started noticing the sweating about 2 years prior to diagnosis and just felt really hot. I remember a complete stranger telling me something was wrong and I needed to see a doctor. Looking back though, those were some of the first signs. I also get really hot throughout then day and will register a fever one minute and the next minute, it’s normal. Very weird. Almost like hot flashes. The times I think I have a fever, I don’t have one and when I don’t think I have one, I actually do.

I was married for 25 years. My x-husband kept turning the heat down to 55 conserve energy, and I kept turning it up to 60 because I was always freezing! I kept saying if we ever get divorced it will be because of the heat, or lack there of. Ironically we did divorce (not because of the heat issue), and then I got Lupus...now I never get cold, even in mid winter! Who knew? I used to love the sun, was a worshiper of the sun, but since I got Lupus, the sun is my enemy, warm weather altogether causes sweating way beyond the norm. I can't even do dishes or vaccuum without breaking a sweat! Life is stranger than fiction for sure!

i also am warm all the time...but if i go out in the sun, my skin starts to burn........... i just hate having lupus

I sweat a lot and can't stand the heat

I just thought my body thermostat was broken. I can be outside and not sweat, then come into a cold room and start pouring sweat
