Sun Season is here

I am wondering is anyone can recommend a good sunscreen that is non-greasy and good for sensitive skin. I have tried about 4 kinds and have found they all make my face shiny and give me blemishes.

We have only had a few sunny days and already my rashes are back. I really don't want to be stuck in the house all summer again............

Well it is somewhat comforting to know i am not alone but this still sucks!!! Like you said the rashes, joint pain, dizzyness, fever ect are all back already and I fear that i will flare all summer into the fall like i did last year. I am so sorry that you are also having a flare and feeling down about it. I live in a very remote place and have never even met anyone else with lupus - so I sometimes feel that no one understands.

I am hoping that I am going to find some suncreen and a big hat that will help becuase the thought of staying indoors all summer is very depressing. I have a two year old who wants to play outside and go for walks and when i am outside feeling sicker and sicker I have to tell her that we have to go inside and I feel soooooooo guilty.

Anyways if I could give you a hug I would. We have to keep going and try to look on the positive side of things becuase lupus is not going to go away and the more negative our thoughts/ emotions are the sicker we will get. Maybe it will be a cold and cloudy summer? We can hope!!!

I highly recommend that. We did a week in FL last month. I spent over 2 hours in the water with my son and didn't even turn pink with this stuff. I only re-applied once while in the water too. Its not a lotion but more of a paste and non-greasy. It worked wonderfully for me and I'm on prednisone so I expected to be a complete lobster. Its some sort of special formulation that Discovery Cove insists on using for their dolphin pond because of the non-greasy ingredients, which was how I originally came across it.

Hope it helps! I bought 3 tubes and am looking forward to finally being able to work in my garden for the first time in years! PS...I also bought a UV protectant swim shirt...it is lightweight, long sleeved with a high collar. It wicks water, dries quickly and blocks UV rays almost completely. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but I think it will be a great doubleup protection shirt in combinaton with the sunscreen for summer outings. I may look silly in a long-sleeved shirt in 85 degree weather in WI but if it keeps me from burning and getting sick I'll deal with the looks.
