Strange bruises..anyone?

I am hoping someone has had this happen to them....I noticed strange bruises on my legs...it looks like bubble gum sized bruises all over my legs. I am on coumadin and my levels are in the right range. My bloodwork all came back normal...they blamed it on my lupus. I do not take advil or anything like that. I have been on coumadin for 11 years and have never had this happen. I look like I have been beaten. My doctor is on vacation and the on-call doctor sent me to the ER. They said not to worry about it but it is so weird. Anyone have anything like this happen? I hate how when a doctor hears you have Lupus...they just blame things on it...granted it could be Lupus but it is just so weird.... anyone???

Dear dietsister,

From the looks of the info on each site, the bruising could be caused by Lupus and/or Counadin/Warfarin. Surely only a Doctor is qualified to distinquish the exact cause, but I hope this helps.

Also if you go to the top if the page, where it says 'discussions', type in 'bruises' there are at least 4 pages of discussions on this topic by members of the group.

Hope you are better soon,

SK

thanks...

Sure, hope it helps!

Hello dietsister,

I hope Susan's been able to help you because there's meds and many conditions which can cause bruising to any part of the body.

Best of luck when you see your doctor or specialist.

Hey Dietsister!

I also have been experiencing random bruises on my hands and knees, but they're pretty tiny. My Rheumatologist told me it could be the medication and that it's fine.
I hope that helps as well!

Take care and hope that everything goes well!

Hi Ibie,

I'm adding this link about bruising because on it, it's got "Myositis" which my Dermo tested me on and i never remembered to ask the results on it and this covers autoimmune diseases linked to bruising with Lupus.
