Splinter hemorrhages?

Does anyone get these purple/black lines under their fingernails? If so, did your dr seemed concerned about them?

My daugher is now 25 years old. She has been seeing a rheumatologist since 2007 and was diagnosed with lupus in 2012. She has been getting nail splinter hemorrhages for several years (she has them under several fingernails right now). As for the doctor, he made a note but didn't say much.

A year ago I developed splinter hemorrhages under most of my finger nails. I was put on warfarin immediately. I tested for anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome.

I get them… not as often as I used to. SLE can be one cause, but so can unrelated cardiovascular conditions. I have both. They should be brought to the attention of a physician for evaluation. Occasional small ones isn’t usually a big deal. Let a Dr decide if they are of concern or not for you individually though.
