Question from Newby

I have exactly the same thing! I'm 54 and been through the hot flashes already and know it's not that. I can so relate to your morning routine and wonder if it's worth the trouble of getting ready to go anywhere. I don't take steroids. I had my thyroid radiated because of Graves Disease and take thyroid replacement. I do take an antidepressant and wondered if that might contribute. Last night I was standing in the yard watering my flowers and was head sweating buckets! I hate it when I've spent so much time defrizzing and calic taming my hair, only to sweat and all that work is undone.

Just remember, you are not alone and Lupus SUCKS!

Do any of you Cymbalta? I take 90mgs and my rheumo thinks that might be it

kat

I take 120mgs of Cymbalta each day and since I went to my gyno and she put me on Pempro I am like night and day with the excessive sweating. I had everything you described. I was totally fine from the neck down but my hair would be totally wet. I didn't have to do anything to bring it on. Of course I know that my answer is not for everyone but my husband and I were talking yesterday and we just can't believe the difference. I used to carry a small fan with me and hankies so I wouldn't be so embarrassed.

I know how frustrating it is and I hope you find the right answer for you. Take care,

I’ve had a blood clot therefore am unable to take any hormones. I just had a hysterectomy and my hormones were checked before it and were fine. Weird!

Hi Kat, yes I take Cymbalta at 40mgs. My doctor has never mentioned that possibilty. I need it though as I seem to stay depressed without it. We've tried others but they weren't as effective as cymbalta.
