Peeling skin

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this? My right palm has been peeling for awhile now. And it’s just getting worse. My left palm has. Started to peek a little bit. But nothing like my right palm.

Yes I have palms that peel. And this week is has been bad. I have been woundering the same thing myself. Not sure what is means either. What going to ask the dermatologist the next time I see her.

Hi Tiffany / Deenie,

Here's a link which may help you both but if you scroll down to "Hands" i think it may help as it's linked with Lupus.

Thanks Terri for the website. But I could not find anything about this and lupus!

Deenie the sites about lupus put that's the info it gave off about pealing skin and under the hands part it says it could be fungus infection or lack of vitamin A.

I saw that part of the information. Here are a few more sites.

Deenie i could have added these as they came up when i was looking but i thought you'd both like something more direct, that's why i stated scroll to hands.

My feet do that, but not my hands... My skin hair and nails is always dry and brittle... I started taking preneadle vitamins with minerals to help with that!

Tiffany

I posted picture on my page of my peeling hands for you to look at. Does yours look similar?

Hi Deenie,

I've still been looking it's an autoimmune disease from ezcema or psoriasis...here's an imagine for you & Tiffany to view....there is worse picture's which look sore also but to do with what i've put but you'll know when you see your doctor to get it confirmed.

That’s interesting. Ty. I just found out I don’t get to see my rheumo until september! It made me so mad when I found out!

Hello Tiffany,

I am sorry about your appointment being so fare away...lets hope time flys for you and i'm being refered to a new one also and waiting a new appointment now but hopefully he'll be a better theumo apparentley he's more upto date in the field of Lupus.

I tried to blow the picture up more and no way would it work.

Tiffany

You wanted me to update you on the peeling hands issues. I saw the rhumy yesterday and she agreed with my dermo that the peeling of my hands and now my feet are a result of the inflamation I was having from the vasculilit. The rhumy said it is quit common. So there you go. I hope that your appointment can get moved up so you can see the rhumy sooner later then later. Have a happy fourth of July.

Hello Deenie,

I am pleased you've got the peeling confirmed from both specialist's that it's to do with the vadculitis....i always find that's the best thing when you see a specialist about something and you get it confirmed just by eye sight instead of hold on bloods need doing again....then your waiting round for the next time while your heads still wondering what the hells going on with me.

You takecare Deenie and all my love Terri xxx

Dewing3569,

What did they do to treat your peeling hands? My right hand palm peels and then gets little bumps on it. I posted a picture on my page, but I'm not sure how clearly it shows it. I'm calling my Doc in the morning to see what he can do to treat it. Thanks so much!

They gave me nothing to treat it. They just told me what caused it. I put bag balm on it to moisten the palm area. That is it. If you find out anything please let me know!

Best of luck…Deenie

"I'm bumping this thread up"

Hello Tiffany i hope your doing ok and i hope your able to get on and at least let we know how things are going as your due soon also for the Rheumo visit.

Thinking of you Terri xxx

That happened to a friend of mine. Not to alarm you but she had toxic shock syndrome. Very treatable but may want to get it checked. Also it happens to me when I go nuts around my house cleaning with windex  so could be reaction to a cleaning agent???

Hello Queenie,

There's so many issues for skin problems as it's so unbelieveable but if this happens to you also using windex then definitely an allergie and i suggest stop using it as you can cause alot more harm to your skin otherwise.

Hi,

This is a good post-I was wondering the same thing, except it's not my hands that peel, it's my back. It's like dead skin that comes right off just by rubbing it a little. I've talked to my rheumy, and dermatologis, and they both said it's just dry skin and not a Lupus thing. there's something i can buy over the counter but i forgot what it is.

Anyway, how can it not be a Lupus thing if Lupus affects everything, especially skin? And I never had this issue before!
