So, in the past 2weekish, my leg has began peeling. As in it looks like I got badly sun burnt, and now my skin is flaking off in pieces. But I know it's not from a sun burn, because I've barely been outside, and have been burnt before.... has this happened to anyone else, or is it even considered "normal" for Lupus, or any auto immune? Thanks. I'd ask my doc, but next appt isn't til the 17th, and its starting to worry me since the flaking hasn't stopped. Oh, and I've tried heavy duty lotions to no avail either... it just makes my skin flake off with more moisture in it. Haha.
Hi Nic,
"Ann" is correct in the pictures she's shown as it can be any skin condition causing this and regarding being checked out for another autoimmune disease...Sjogren's syndrome causes dry and flaky skin alo which makes you look like a reptile at times so it's worth getting checked out and you could possible have (xeroderma) dry skin which is caused by any condition regarding cold weather etc.
The link below explains about dryness with sjogrens syndrome...Terri :)

It doesn't look like either those. It's literally like just pieces of skin flaking off... doesn't even look dry, except for the flakes. It's weird. It's on the bottom of my toe that is swollen and top of the bottom of my left leg. Idk. It doesn't itch, hurt, bother me at all... just looks not yummy. I wish I could get an earlier appt... but I don't have insurance, so I'm trying to use the county, and first day they could see me at all is the 17th. At least it's only a week away now. :) Thanks for the help..I'd post a pic but.... Idk if you all do pics of the "weirdness" skin on here from actual ppl on the site, and I don't wanna gross ppl out. Haha.
Hi Nic,

All the best Terri :)
