Numbness on legs arms and face

Do not play with this. There are some good discussions on the central nervous system thread and the vasculitis thread that you might do well to read. It may help you ask better questions of doctors that have no clue.

Hi Mary, sorry that you are having this issue . hang in there , things will get better, my prayers go out to you Beverly L.

hi mary, it sounds like you are having TIA'S (SMALL STROKES) i would go to the er........immediately .......god bless sweetie purrs..catspaw1955

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my questions I finally found a GP that has experience with patients like us she works with my Rheumy. Am going to go get lab work tomorrow and will see her on the 2nd of next month I hope she can confirm what you all think it probably is TIA’s or not. If not will see if I end up at the ER which I hope not since they misdiagnose so much but I will go if needed. Today I only had 2 episodes compared to 5 yesterday which I know it doesn’t make it any better but will see tomorrow after my labs. Again thank you and hopefully this will help all of us get the appropriate care we need for our aches and ailments without having to wait for our rheumatologists to see us at least for me. Wish we could all have the appropriate care from our health physicians someday.Hope you guys have a good night and a pain free day tomorrow God Bless.

Are you on muscle relaxtant medication I was on flexil smething like that .I had all your simptoms went to ER when hafe of my face paralyzed and they stop the medication. And I am fine after that.Good luck.

Hi Molly I am not on any muscle relaxers but am on a sleeping med Clonazepam 0.5mg which I know also used for anxiety since I can’t sleep because of Lupus and I have really bad Anemia wich I didn’t until now that also causes you to have trouble sleeping.

Ivehad this on my feet and hands… maybe some magnesium and kelp… did u get urthyroid checked god bless u

Tia’s are one of those possible things lupus can cause. But you could get a bigger stroke, too. I guess if you’ve had one, you know , but you are describing 3 out of 4 signs of stroke. One side not functioning, not smiling with both sides of your mouth and not being ale to lift your arm. Next time, check to see if your pupils are the same size. I’d be in the ER in asap. They see possible stokes or heart attacks without making you wait. I’ve never had a tia, and it does sound like there are other possible reasons for eryour numbness. Ask the rheum office to leave a note for him next time, maybe that will get you past the guards in the office. I do that a lot, and he calls back. I get migraines, sometimes the back of my neck and shoulders get numb to the touch when I have one. I always get tense there with migraines, too.
Next time you see the rheum , you might ask him what works and what you should do if you have signs of a tia. The sins of a heart attack affect your shoulder arm and chest.

I had almost identical symptoms that were preceded with a metallic taste in my mouth and a tingle in my tongue,

( TIA's or mini strokes ) .

I also had an ache in my leg for a couple of months leading up to these episodes that I had thought was a pulled muscle, my GP sent me to get a scan done on my leg, they found it was full of blood clots as was the other leg.

They told me to get straight up to the ER where I had a lung Xray, and yes, more clots, the upshot was nearly a

month of blood thinner shots and now on 11/12mg warfarin alternate days. No more TIA's since though.

I was never told that lupus can lead to blood clots.

Wow glad you are doing better and they found all those blood clots. Am sitting in my new GP’s office ️hopefully she will figure out what’s wrong with me. I didn’t en up going to the ER because they misdiagnose so much. But from what I hear she’s a very good doctor so hopefully she is and if she works with my rheumatologist I don’t doubt is he’s a great doctor. Will keep you all updated on what they find and how they treat it. Thank you all for all your input.
