taking part in my first lupus walk in Boston at the end of the month and I am finallly feeling a little better and will be able to walk and I have raised over $800…someday in our lifetime there will be a cure!!! RAWR

Good luck with your walk! I did the chicago/naperville walk and had a blast! Have fun but take it slow. Don’t push yourself too much. Congrats!

Sheila last year we had snow around halloween time but that was unusual, but it will be cold, I guess better than walking in the sun since sun is our enemy LOL

Hi justisse23, Way to go !!!! my 1st walk back in April of this year and OMG!!!! it was such a BLAST here in Atlanta, Ga. ... There were so many people from everywhere - it was REALLY GREAT to KNOW that AM REALLY NOT ALONE IN THIS FIGHT WITH LUPUS !!!!! There were alot of people supporting family and friends , or just because , that moment was GREAT . My granddaughter at the time is 6 and my daughter , her son (which at the time less that 6mths.old) and her friend , i think they really enjoyed it also - my grand daughter is asking when are we going back where all those people who talk about being like me !!! It makes me feel really good that at her age she wants to go and really don't know what is going on (reality wise ) , but she does know that am sick but able to do somethings and need her help sometimes and that means the world to me .!!!!! SMILE We had so much fun out there in the park so much to see, things to do and most of all MEETING NEW FACE FROM DIFFERENT PLACES that came to do this event . I just want to say try and make it ( don't go into a flares b4 hand )-smile . Make sure that you get pleanty of rest b4 you go during the week, so that you will be able to enjoy everything !!! Oh yeah! if you are having a sunny day on this event day, make sure that you cover up !!!! (white longsleveed shirt- put it in a little tote bag !!! it helps with the sun rays and wear it as needed !!!! ,hat, towel -to wipe the sweat and dirt-that's if you have the rash , i do !!!! ) and try to find shade often and keep bottled water with you at all times !!!! Take care and ENJOY your 1st walk , hope that you enjoy it as much as i DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and i can't wait for my next one in April here in Atl, Ga. .... Talk with you later Beverly L.

Beverly I loved reading your post sounds like you realky enjoyed your day and I too am hoping to meet other Lupies, nit many people understand our struggles when we look good on the inside but our bodies are screaming on the inside and those grandbabies make it all worth it to you :). and Im a huge Atlanta Braves fan even though red sox are my home!!!
I will be on the lookout for you my team is Hotshots, going to making some fun shirts to wear it will be a great day, I missed the pre party a few weeks ago I heard it was a good time
Beverly last year it snowed here in Mass so hoping for a tiny bit of warm weather and yes always have my sunblock on and long sleeve shirts even in winter, also own a few shirts that have spf in them a little pricey but worth it
