Has anyone had trouble with jaw pain. Having difficulty eating a meal. My jaw aches down my neck. Like muscle spasm almost. Anyone know if its related?
Omg YES!!! I have TMJ and that’s exactly what it feels like. Can give you bad headaches also. Try icing it. Don’t eat bagels or anything like that when it feels that way. It’s a joint so lupus/arthritis/ degenerative disc disease can attack that joint as well.
I had that in my 30's! Every decade was a new story for me with Lupus! Also my neck hurts when I overdo it and that is my warning to rest because it means I might go into a flare.
I've actually been experiencing this in the past few weeks... I have Rheumatoid Arthritis along with Lupus Nephritis so I get alot of joint pain and now I'm realzing it's also affecting my jaw. I know that it's not tooth pain it's the actual jaw joint. I feel your pain, literally! Are you on plaquenil or prednisone already?
Nothing yet. Lucky to have medicaid, but waiting for appointments are crazy. They go like, so you are here for your leg. And I say that was 2 weeks ago today my hip is worse. Lol
I definitely have jaw issues. I get horrible headaches, ear pain, and diffuse pain through my jaw and down my neck. I wear a night guard to keep from grinding my teeth together which helps some. I quit chewing gum and anything that requires extended chewing to eat. I still have yet to mention it to my doc as my dentist is the one who made my bite guard. I hope you find relief soon.
Thanks ladies. Don’t know what I’d do without you all. Tears this morning. Feeling alone and immobile with pain physically and emotionally. Until I get your kind words and I remember, someone understands… So I push today. Just a little bit.
I sooo hear you! If it's not one thing, it's another! I had a short episode of tears today too. I'm feeling very overwhelmed since I'm getting married in October. It's coming fast! But I do, I understand everything you are experiencing!!
ohhhhhh yes!!! the heating pad helps. sometimes it goes down my neck too...i have had times where I just eat soft foods for days. I am so sorry that someone else has to go through this sometimes its so bad I just cry.
plaquenil helped a bit - but it took a good 6 weeks to kick in fully.
Usually when my jaw hurts its a sign that the next day or two will be rough.
xoxo you are in my prayers sweetie!

I think you’re right. I had a few really good days. Now I look at my legs like I am trying to start a negotiation. Legs let’s pick up Jamie from school and I promise I’ll stay off you guys the rest of the day. No one here gets it. " you seemed fine a minute ago, what you mean your arms don’t work" I have to realize. I am alone in my home. The ones who want to help can’t. Those who can won’t…
wow ..... exactally. the husband is always giving me the well you're always sick. well why dont you do something??
well i work full time. and i drive an hour each way to work, somedays the drive alone is a challenge with my hands acting up.....would it kill him to sweep the floor?

I think it might… My ex told me he was my family we had each others back no matter what. Wanted to move me into his building. And the bam marries the woman who broke up my marriage moves 1 1/2 he’s away and pls don’t call it upsets his wife…she has him convinced I will use my illness to manipulate him. It was the opposite she had him convinced that " she never looks sick" when karma comes w I want to RUN over to watch
dke19307 - were you diagnosed with Lupus first and then Lymes disease? My doctor won't test me for Lymes...
I was tested for Lyme’s first also. That’s when they found tumid lupus. Bloods and biopsy for what almost had looked like a bullseye rash.
I was actually diagnosed with Lymes first then 4 years late with Lupus... I'm not sure if they're connected but my Mom swears they are! oh and inbetween Lymes and Lupus I had Shingles, lol. The story of my life!
If I didn’t have the itching directly on a birthmark biopsy may not have been done. I thought I was dealing with early menopause, physical depression, weak stomach, forgetfulness, getting older even. Dealt with photosensitivity since my 20’s. Had to be a hypochondriac. No one could just never feel well. Lucky in a way not insured. Derm decided to do much broader testing in panels instead of individual. It was cheaper. Found the skin lupus. Made everything else make sense.
