Hi , so I have lupus sle and fibromyalgia (diagnosed almost a year ago). Lately I have been under a lot of stress and the result is constant pain in my chest, back, and lungs every time I breathe plus I can’t seem to sleep enough! I am on my second month of plaquenil and still find myself needing Vicodin to fall asleep because of the pain. The problem is that once I do fall asleep I sleep for 12+ hours and still feel like I could sleep longer. If I didn’t have carpool at 2:30pm then I would still be asleep! Anyone else have this problem? How do I make it stop??? Oh and my hair is falling out like crazy right now! Ugh
Hi, Jenn. Sorry to hear of your pain and difficulties. Have you checked in with your doctor yet? Plaquenil has a known side effect of hair loss. The sleep issues could be Fibro or Lupus or a Plaquenil side effect or something entirely different, so I hesitate in offering confirmation. Hopefully, your doctor will offer some insights.
