Hi Everyone, I joined not really planning to participate. But it seems like such a great community. I was recently dx in Feb 2013 and I have had the best 3 days since confirmation of dx almost 8 weeks ago. I just cannot believe there is something that can make a person feel so awful and sap all your energy. I am learning to live with this SLE and Fibromyalgia. I am hoping to return to work soon.
anyhoo, my question is are headaches and not being able to sleep at night normal? How is everyone managing this? I have had headaches this last week that just wont go away and I'm pooped exhausted mid day needing a nap and then not able to rest at night. Any suggestions?
The sleeplessness is real and normal. Your Dr may be able to give you something to help. I take something for headaches which helps from time to time. Be blessed!!!
I to suffer from severe headaches and insomnia. Take Excedrine and benadryl to sleep but sometimes that doesn't help. Talked to my DR and gave me prescription and sedative to sleep still not helping. Have MRI scheduled next week and following up with Neurologist. Doctor worried that might have inflamation in head from lupus. Better safe than sorry.. I would check out your headaches to. Don't let them go to long. Hope you get better.
I recommend Tylenol PM. It helps me when I can't sleep. I have moderate pain, so you may need something stronger. I hope your sleep improves as we all know how important rest is and how it affects your day following a restless night. Best of luck!
I have SLE and Fibromyalgia also I was diagnosed 4 years ago. Took me a year to accept the diagnosis I didn’t want to believe it. My cousin has SLE and I watched her suffer with the symptoms. It is normal I have insomnia and headaches as well. Sometimes it feels like my head is going to explode. I take Benadryl at night to try help sleep sometimes it works others it doesn’t. I’m going to get my headaches investigated as its just getting worse and worse.
I hope you manage to get some relief from your symptoms. Take care and be kind to yourself.
