Headache, please go away

I have had a headache pretty much everyday for the past few months. Some days its worse than others. I deal with it because I have a life to live, but do they ever go away? I am on aspirin, low dose every day. I dont know if there is anything else I can do for it. Usually, caffeine works, but only for a little while. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I can sympathize with you sister…I have had a headache for the last 5 years everyday of my life…if its not a headache its a migraine…over 10 yrs with lupus and 5 Neurologists later I still have the dx of lupus headache with mild vasculitis and migraine…I’m on cymbalta for over a year now…helps a tiny but :frowning: but I still suffer daily. Good luck to you.

Tray, I am so sorry your head hurts. I have had to fight headaches since I was 10. Used to be "just migraine" then they became Lupus Migraines and I thought I would surly die. The only thing that helped was steroids via IV. But now, thanks be to God, I don't get them anymore, at least not often. Probably the prednisone I take every day keeps the headaches at bay.

Do you have a neurologist? Or has your doc tested to find out what type of headache it is and what the cause might be? Or have you noticed any patterns to these headaches?

that made me think of something—when I have headaches i always go for the cold==wish i could wear an ice helmet. but one day it got so bad that i had to go to get a shot, so even though i was in horrible puking-pain I took a shower. I could not see well enough to adjust the water to cool so it was a hot shower. And to my amazement, the headache relaxed! I still had to go to er, but when i came home i used a warm cloth on my forehead and a heated massage pillow behind my neck. Now I try warm before I decide I have to seek other help—sometimes it works

When I was a teenager I got in lots of trouble for poring ice water over my head. But after I come back from the store, I am going to pile ice packs around my head. I think it helps the inflammation in my head just like it helps them inflammation in my joints. And whatever works with the fewest side effects is my choice.

My general doctor says I have “typical migraines.” So I can take whatever itt akes to make it go away. But will it ever go away? At least lessen the pain?

I have what they call “complex migraine” I have numbness in my face twitching in my lips eyes and tingling in my nose chin lips and cheeks.I also get migraine with aura once in a while and extreme dizziness and nausea. I tried over the counter meds and prescription meds diet changes pretty much everything nothing made anything better for me anyway…the worst symptom of this illness for me is the headaches completely d

ebilitating :frowning:

Thanks for sharing, that is probably what is going on with me. Sometimes my eye twitches, but nothing else besides headaches. The only thing that somewhat helps is sleep and Mntn Dew. So bad for me but it works sometimes. I definetly get dizzy and nauseas. Let me know if you find something that works for you.

Yea same here! Hey if mt.dew helped me…geez I would drink it by the gallons! Lol

Hi Tray I do recently started getting headaches, they are not migraines because I’ve had those. I believe its from a new med I started, its Neurontin, although it has helped with my body pain the headaches are a tradeoff! Anyway I have a little bottle of pure peppermint oil. I put some on my finger and lick it and also just breath it in. This has helped me with the headaches. I hope it will help you too! I don’t think it can hurt.
