Hi,
My doctor ordered Vectra DA for checking my Lupus, but this test is for evaluating RA, I wonder if she suspects RA also? I showed he the joint erosion of my SI joints, and been having finger and to joint pain. Has anyone had this test done?
Hi Jon, did you have the test yet? I read about it and it said it is for RA. Maybe the lupus use is a new idea. Let us know how it goes.
I think she was thinking that I had RA all along, so she did the test, I got a very low score 14 out of 100 which is good. I had another follow up with her, after confirmation of erosion of the SI joints. I am doing a genetic test for Ankylosing Spondylisis, and also testing for Psorisis Arthritis. There are not many doctors that know how to treat SI degeneration, but hopefully Scripps has someone. The SLE Lupus diagnosis is still standing, at least until something replaces it…
I have 2 great spinal disorder doctors with Scripps in La Jolla. Dr. Gregory Mundis and Dr. Ramin Bagheri. Dr. Bagheri operated on my brother and he did a great job. They both have a great bed-side manner. I don't have their new number since they moved toi Sripps but they would be easy for you to find.
Good luck!
I have SI joint "deformity " too with damage in the pelvic bone . My rheumatologist just keeps a permanent notation in my Diagnostic notes that i have an ankylosing spondylitis variant. i guess some biologics are better for a true spondylitis or Rhumatoid disease but if its an "overlapping or variant " treatment is trickery . I have yet to know someone with just 1 autoimmune diseases lol
Thanks Geniva I will pass on the names if need be…
Yes dawn you are probably right, they do seem to come in clusters. It would be nice if they had something that at least arrested the erosion of the joint, before there is nothing left. AS usually comes back and fills up all the wholes with calcium later, so maybe it will fuse at some point.
