A few annoyances getting me down

ok so the first annoyance is the fact that i have a large lump under my ribs on the left side: that is getting looked at via ultrasound on the 4th july so i have to wait for that... now im having mood swings on the prednisolone and have been feeling generally unwell with a rash aswell since thursday... also i had to visit out of hours doctor tonight due to weird tingling in my face with foggy brain and blurring in my right eye... he told me to see my gp tomorrow and an optician aswell... he diddnt actually know what lupus was either which doesnt give me much confidence in him atall... ive also had a few headaches and ive been feeling wayyyy more fatigued than i normally do... also this stupid moon face is making me look like a hamster!! if anyone has any words of wisdom or is able to put my mind at rest about any of these problems especially the tingling and blurry eye then please im listening because its just getting me down at the moment...

bless your heart, i give you a hug and i like hamster, i say i look like a raccoon cause i got one black eye after a rash flared up -do you get the moon face from the prednisone ? Does it make you gain weight, i am a newbie and i am not being treated for lupus yet, go and see my rheumy tmrw to get some new test done

Yeah I’ve been on prednisolone for 2 months now and it’s filled out my face mostly and I’ve got slightly more belly fat… People say I look healthier for it but I feel hamster like and I don’t like it… My boyfriends really supportive though which is nice he thinks I look cute…

Hamsters are adorable. I am on 30mg/day of pres and have a slight rounding of the face, but I am one of the people that have lost a lot of weight (45 lbs). So imagine being sickly skinny looking with a moon face. I am looking like a hamster in a terrible science experiment, lol. (it can always be worse).

Make certain that you talk to your doc about mood swings. Because Lupus can affect the CNS as well as your other organs, it's something NOT to be ignored. A rash is a common indicator of a drug reaction and needs to be addressed ASAP. If you are taking Plaquenil it's important that you continually have your vision checked, but if it's been 6 months or more you should have it cheked anyway. It could actually be a part of the rash.

Headaches can go back to the CNS issues and are not uncommon, but again need to be addressed immediately. Avoiding bright lights including florescent lighting can help.

I am not a doctor so please don't take this as medical advice...just sharing what I did when I found the same symptoms.

Big hugs,

DeAnne
