Wind in my ear!

This is my very first post I usually just travertine else's,but I decided to ask you all if you have ever experienced wind in your ear?I have had what I characterize the sound you here during an ultra sound the heart beat of your baby, that beat surrounded by a whooshing sound.I have had this for about 3 months now, anyone else?

Yes I have had this and multiple ear infections lymph nodes swelling. I finally had surgery on both ears and it is better even tho I lost half the hearing in my right ear. My ENT doctor told me it was from my Lupus and arthritis. I would try and see an ENT.

Does it sound like the swoosh of helicopter blades turning? That is what I hear. It comes and goes. Very strange sensation. I am seeing a neurologist next week for this and other issues. ENT is on my list of dr.s to see

I have this too. I have thought it was an ear flutter. They just started this last year for me - it is distracting & aggravating.

Thank you guys for replying I try to subscribe it to my family and they look at me like I have grown a second head.I have had to reschedule my Neuro appt twice for other spots,I'm a single mom of 4 and have been dealing with some mental health issues involving my 12 year old daughter. So it's been a stressful year. What does Ent mean,I'm not up on all the language I'm 3 years in.

Yes Rachel it is beyond aggravating and sometimes I just can't hear.

I have lost partial hearing in my right ear due to the lupus. Anyone else? Also due to the lupus the cartilage inside my nose is gone from one side of the nose to the other so there is just a big hole inside. Anyone else have this issue?

ENT is Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. I haven't had this happen to me and hope that you get the answers you need. I can't imagine living with that on a constant basis. Occasional occurences of ringing and swishing is enough to aggravate me.

I have this and notice it when I lie down. I have migraines/chronic daily headaches and attributed it to this issue. But I do have ear ringing separate from this throbbing sound. I also have Sjogren's and know that causes the inner ear itching - does Sjogren's cause the ringing and/or whooshing???

Hi! I have this too. My rheumatologist said it is tinnitus from the lupus. I usually hear cicadas. And I have always hated those bugs, I thought it was the most annoying sound in the world. Go figure that is the sound I would get stuck with. Lol. Good luck and keep in touch.

Wendy xx

Thanks all will be making an appt with the ENT.

I have this too- I remember the cicada noise too when I was in an acute flare and with a lupus migraine but the doc sure looked at me funny when I told him I have the whooshing and tinnitus now secondary to anemia- my counts are very low and when low I get a lot of noise in my head- makes it hard to fall asleep with all that racket!

Wow, I have been dealing with this whooshing tinnitis, too. I already have an ENT appt. for next week. Rheumy will be doing MRI of my head/brain if ENT doesn't find anything. Though I have lost some hearing in the worse ear. It's worse when I think about it. At first I thought it was because of medication because it began shortly I was put on Welbutrin...but it didn't go away once I stopped the medication. Sounds like it is Lupus-related. I thought I was going crazy...thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one!

Tinnitis is definitely no fun! Mine is an extremely high pitched buzz (sort of like that which is associated with power lines) that never ends. It is always present, and always annoying but, sometimes, at night, it is impossible to sleep because of it!

I get the wooshing noise, but only on occasion. I pretty constantly hear a high-pitched whine.

Jazmin, I find that white noise helps counteract the tinnitus when trying to sleep. I have an app for my ipod that I use with it plugged into speakers by my bed, I set it to the "humidifer" sound and sleep much better. I used to use a real humidifier or loud fan, but the app works much better since I can control the volume.

I have it also but only on occasion. It’s the whooshing sound and also the high pitched sound. Very annoying!

I had my ENT appt today...he said that among other things, quinine can cause tinnitus...plaquenal. Have to talk to rheumy about that. Not sure what to do now. ???

I have that whoosing sensation (sounds like a heartbeat through an ultrasound); it will drive me batty for a few days and then be gone...of course it comes back again. My rheumy said the lupus causes the lymph nodes to swell and it actually is our own pulse we hear. she suggested an ENT also but I haven't gone.

I have constant high pitched ringing in both ears. I saw an ENT and he stated it is something I will have to live it. I mostly likely had a viral infection that affected my ears. I have gotten a little use to it but it is really annoying. I have hearing loss due to it.

I thought that when you hear your own heart beating in your ears it was because your blood pressure was high. Have you had your blood pressure checked while you are hearing this? I’m sure it could be many things but this is just what I’ve heard people say. I’m definitely no dr or nurse.
Good luck and keep us posted !
