Has anyone tried anything you add to the wash to make clothes have SPF protection? Did it work? Very interested in trying it but want to hear other opinions.
I want to try it too. I also got some spf shirts from Land's End. They are great and you can swim in them!! I just hand wash them and let them drip dry. If you go to the website they are on sale right now.
I just went to their website. How do you know if they are SPF?

Hi Mari, it says they are UPF 50 protection. I am looking at a catalog, it should say so on the website too. I never get any sun through the shirt, they are cool and I swim in them. It must mean ultra violet protection. They are imported so maybe that's the way another country phrases it. I would definitely recommend them!
oh I so need this. never a big sun bather, but outdoors a lot before, and now have "liver spots" NO it is sun damage. face, hands, arms, legs and chest. Have to see a skin doctor, one is changing. eak. The lotions all cause dermatitis, except for the heavy white zinc cream. can't wear that head to toe. Maybe the wash in stuff is the answer!
I just wonder how long the wash in product lasts? I just ordered a shirt from Coolibar , but it doesn't have the cooling light feel of the Land's End shirt. Of course it is not made for swimming.
I too have spots everywhere. Just went to the dermatologist and had one pre-cancer spot removed and one lupus related on my shoulder removed. It's never ending!
Let me know if you try the wash in product.
Thanks Ann, do you have to order it or do the stores have it?
