Rashes... Rashes... Rashes

I’ve had these rashes on my legs for two months now. They would be itchy sometimes, but most times they aren’t. They look like what they call subacute cutaneous lupus. I’ve been taking 60mg of cortisol and 200mg Plaquenil as per doctor’s order. No improvement still. Can anyone please give me advice on what to do? Are these triggered by sun exposure? I’ve been tested positive to SSA and SSB last June 2014. HELP!!!

PS: I’ve attached photos. Hope you see them.

This looks a bit like ringworm. You might want to look it up. I wonder if cortisone cream on the rash would work better than oral cortisone. I've had my first experience with rashes this year too.

Hi

I had the rash on arms and legs for 3 years I have lichen planus which is another incurable skin rash that I was being treated for by my dermo. She thought the rash looked a lttle different so she biopsyed it. SLE was that diagnoses. I am ANA positive. I was on plaquenil for 2 years before the rash "calmed" down. I have 3 different creams for he rash. but most important is moisturizer.. I can't be in the sun so the rash doesn't seem to matter to much as I have my arms coverd all time when outside.

I can't get your photos. I am not computer literate.

Have a good day.

They look like ringworm but they aren’t. They’re caused by lupus. I’ll try to get some cortisone cream and see if that would work.

Try to click on the image.jpg. You’ll the photo there. I really hope the rashes go away soon. Though they don’t hurt, they’re really ugly.

Thanks for telling me what to click on

. My rash doesn't look anything like that. It is hundreds and hundreds of red spots. The dermo gave me an anti-itchcream that works great.

I get rashes too that on looks like one I get in the summer from the heat my doctor prescribes me topical desonide cream .05% and ketoconazole 2% and they do help me. God Bless Julie

I get similar rashes on my arms and mine are definitely due to sun exposure. The dermatologist gave me a topical steroid cream that helps once the rashes appear -- I would see a dermatologist if you can. The thing that helps the most, though, is sun avoidance / sun protection -- I use a mineral based sun block (dermatologist said that would work better than chemical sun block and to reapply throughout the day) and wear golf sleeves sometimes as well.

Blame the sun/light. I use sunscreen and ice compresses. Since I already take steroids I don’t want more.

I have started using hydrocortisone cream and so far i can see improvements. The redness and bumpiness of the rash is almost unnoticable. Will still observe over the days. Hope this continues to work.
