You have to try getting allergy tested. That really helped with the brain fog. Unfortunately, it didn’t help with the memory. I have a sharp, clear mind, but can’t remember anything.

Hey James, I can definitely relate to what u are going through. Janice have had this discussion before as well. I get that way and they just did a neurophycho analysis, I will get the results on the 13th and I will be glad to share the results with everyone. I know that you can get what is caused Lupus Fog, but my memory is so bad sometimes I have forgotten my own address and I have lived here for almost 8 years now. SCARY HUH!!
RLQ, they do have a test for the memory loss. I just had one and I am waiting for the results, you have to have what they call a neuropsycho analyse. They take you through alot of test to see how well you remember, just see a neurophyciatric. My memory is so bad now I hope that I spelled it right. Spelling used to be my best subject in school and my family came to me when they needed a word spelled, now I second quess myself or have to wait a few minutes to try to remember, which really doesnt work anymore

Do they have a test for poor memory? I would like to get one, if so. Anyway, I KNOW I can't remember stuff. I also have problems with forgetting very important things, and my husband gets very irate with me about it. I had to give up my job because the new BOD decided they had to have someone who could keep precise hours working there, even though I am much more qualified (full charge bookkeeper) than the girl who is currently there. Not fair, but certainly is reality.
I hadn't heard of this test. I have to rely on the County system for any testing now days, so it is unlikely I will be getting that one done. I got the tests for the Lupus before I knew I had it, duh! LOL! anyway, I can't afford the health insurance now days, because I have the Lupus. Kind of a vicious cycle, so to speak. My spelling isn't too reliable these days, so no worries. You can use Firefox as you browser-it does have spell check built in. Comes in very handy.
Well, at any rate, I DO remember how well I USED to remember. Just can't remember anything short term these days.
My husband still thinks I should be as capable of doing everything as I ever was, I can’t convince him that I am no longer normal. He says I was never normal. It is very hard for otherwise normal people to understand what we have to go thru. You are not alone. This is where you can have contact with people who know exactly what you are talking about.
this is so true. my daughter feels that i should be fully capable as well, although she beginning to see a little. her daughter, my granddaughter had her tonsils out this summer and when i said my knee hurt too much (when she’d ask me to play outside with her) she got a thoughtful look on her face and said, “it really hurt when i got my tonsils out too.” and her face was full of compassion.
you have my sympathy…if i can be of help…if you need to talk just post it. i check my comp several times a day. i use compt for everything—hulu (no tv here) and music (LOVE youtube) so i am here a lot.
Thanks, it is nice having people here who understand what we are all going thru. Hope we don't freak the younger people out with what is happening to the slightly older bunch. <g>
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, it was a long weekend at work. A great reference site is cure4lupus.org, they have explanations as to why autoimmune diseases like lupus effect the brain.

James,
I didn't want to admit it, but I will. I'm finding myself forgetting
the little things alot more. Like.. Where's my keys, where did I park.
I was just diagnose with Lupus not long ago. Is this part it?
