I'm taking immunosuppressant's and I'm sure you all know that, plus my immune system having a mind of it's own already, means that being around someone who is sick is more likely to make me sick as well. Right now someone I live with is sick, and she doesn't seem to care if I get sick (this shouldn't surprise me, but it does make me upset) and I don't know if she is intentionally trying to get me sick or if I'm just being extremely paranoid, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice on dealing with people like this. I'm trying my best to be around her as little as possible, and I also bought some hand sanitizer today to keep with me at various times.
Hi Mdaniels,
Sometimes healthy people forget or do not think about the nature of our circumstances and they do things unintentionally. Do your best to stay away and stay healthy for now and when she is better sit down and have a little talk explaining how careful you need to be when she is sick and how serious it can be for you. I know how worrisome it is when we already feel sick all the time but than are subject to normal illnesses that can spiral out of control. Hang in there.
thank you very much!
