Need some resouces

Does anyone know of someone who can help me with gifts for my 5 kids. Ive been in and out of the hospital alot lately, so my husband has not had much work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Im new at asking for help thing. Especially when it comes to my kids, but im not proud enough o see hem go without. I hav already tried toys for tot, apparently I missed signups! Thanks again for anyone who can help!!!!

Try talking to local churches. You don’t necessarily have to go to a certain church. Most churches do programs especially around the holidays that provide gifts and meals for families that can’t afford it. And as a side note, if you need help with utilities or rent, I know the Saint Vincent de Paul society in the Catholic Church helps anybody regardless of religion with utilities and rent (they paid my electric bill one time) and its income/need based, so even if you can’t find gifts maybe getting a bill paid you could use the money you have for the bill to buy some gifts. Hope this helps and Merry Christmas!

if you go to yahoo groups and join families that give they may be able to help you.. this isnt the one i used one year but basicaly the same concept. i typed in christmas angels and a bunch of things came up in the yahoo group section you just have to go threw and see which will help with gifts for kids.

What are the ages of your kids? I have a bunch of things that I am getting rid of and I'm sure I can send at least a few small things. Reply here with details but please send your address privately to ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■. Good luck with the other sources and ideas too.

When I posted my reply it went to the comments on your wall. I think I did something wrong; so look there for some suggestions. Faye

Look online for Toys 4 Tots, and call your local food banks. They know of resources like that, who buy toys for struggling families.

Thank you all for your help and may god bless you all!

The Salvation Army is always a possiblilty.

Hello Sara,

I am pleased the members helped in a large way plus what SK said the Salvation Army may also help.

Godbless you and family for christmas :) xxx

Interestingly, my parents have a Mission and they do this every year. These are a few places to go: County Neighborhood Centers are Local Government Agencies that know which resources are available in your community. If you don't know of any around you, ask your children's school counselors. They also know. You mentioned you just came from a hospital. They have social workers that can refer you to the right places. They mentioned churches, Salvation Army, and Toys for Tots. They are great, yet not necessarily local. I don't know where your husband works, but many companies have a program to help their own, and many times it is confidentlial. Radio stations and media can help. If you have a relative who works for any of these (I know because my brother-in-law works for a radio station), I know that they can also be confidential if you ask them. Anyways, I am asking God to lead you to the right place and you and your family do have a Merry Christmas filled with joy and togetherness.

my husband is a fireman, and people in our little town drop all kinds of toys off at the fire station for children in need at xmas..try your local firefighters, they are a great bunch of guys to ask for help... merry christmas, hope things work out for you....celeste
