Lawyer or Allsup to appeal disability decision

Finally got my letter saying I was turned down for disability. It stated that their drs and my drs all stated I have Lupus,Asthma, Fibromyalgia,chronic pain, raynauds,sjogrens. But they turned me down because they needed more details of my work history. They never called to ask for me. So it says I can appeal the decision. My question is a lawyer better or the company Allsup. Thanks Sandy

Hi, I worked for Calif State Disability and how it works here is when your appeal has date, you will meet with the Appeals Determination person. Will be able to ask n answer questions.
Thats it

I’m sorry you got turned down Sandy. They never asked for more information from me either. Hugs to you

You shouldnt be turned down for more info. They let you know and it will delay your claim. But not for more info. Or shouldnt be

I talked to our lawyer and he said they do that alot in the state of Indiana. So we are going to appeal and get going again on it. I figured i would get turned down the first time. But the lawyer said it looked good because all my drs and their drs agreed on everything. So just pray as we start the 2nd part of it.

A friend who works for the SSA told me NOT to reapply, but appeal. This way you get to keep the "onsate date", or day you applied the first time, making your retro pay larger.

So its Social Security Disability not State Disability, from what I hear here in California everyone gets denied first. Its sad but apparently its how the Federal Government works.
Im currently on State Disability for a year, then im off to tackle SSDI

I guess not everyone but those who i know were but finally approved
I have 20+ years working with State of Calif and in Feb I turned 50, which qualified me for medical ins as I have now. Im eligible for retirement but going on Disability Retirement is what i will do

State=Medicaid

Federal=Medicare

Some drs. have a list of qualifying diagnosis which can get you the benefits the first time around. Like everything else, it's in the wording the dr. uses.

Hay, do what you have to and don’t give up !! Do a appeal, keep trying and go to all your appointments , also ask your doctor to help you with this matter so that you can get the disability… Wish you luck!!..Beverly L.

I was told that I had to use an approved lawyer for SSDI. The others are right about the cost and fees and when they are paid. I was approved in Illinois and got an attorney after I was denied. Never did have to go to court though. Good luck!

Sorry, I just realized they are not in IN, but there must be other firms like them in your area.

I hired a lawyer on monday. Thanks for all you guys help

Allsup is a great national disability lawyers group. I just finally got approved by using a national firm called Binder and Binder after being turned down on my own. they send everything to u by mail. they don’t have to be in your state to help. I recommend using the big guys. cost is the same and only taken from you if you win. Good luck, love, Sheri
