Has anyone ever had itching inside the feet near the bones? I have had this type of itching for the pass 4 days and it is literally making me go crazy! I have hit my feet and legs so hard that I now can hardly walk on them. I told my rheum about it and she prescribed gabapentin but that med makes me feel weird and the pain doesn't really go away. I have tried voltaren gel for my feet, icy hot, castor oil. . .I don't know what else to do. Right now the pain has subsided but I can feel it ...like a low grade itch.
I'd appreciate any ideas.
I have SLE, PAH, scleroderma, RA, osteoporosis, undiagnosed raynaud's
I know that lavender helps itching and is relaxing. Maybe a good lavender lotion. When I get internal itching I use Peace and Calming, which is an essential oil blend. It also helps me with my phantom itching. I get horrible itching on the bottom of my foot that isn't there.
To Doggie: Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. did try lavender oil but I promise you this is not a "phantom" that is not really there. . . . . .
To AnnA: I tend to think that it is some type of nerve pain because I could just lightly touch my thigh or my knee and the itching in my feet starts up again. Also, I'm starting have itching at the bone on the tips of my toes. Thank you very much for the link. Will keep you posted.
I get this itchy feeling every so often in my hands, and I've had it on my legs once or twice too. It's absolutely horrible when it's in my hands because it feels like nothing will stop the itch. If you find anything that works for you, please let me know. Sometimes I take Benadryl and that helps a little, but it doesn't completely remove the itch and it takes a while to set in.
