heres my question if anyone gets a bit- ive had a headache for 1.5 weeks with a lot of ear pressure and pressure in the back and front of my head- its tolerable but hurts - I don't know whether to call the rheumy inc case its a lupus thing or call the primary for antibiotic for sinus infection- the ear pain and pressure makes me feel like its sinus- but I don't have any drainage. im so new to this- im only on plaquinil and have been on it for 2.5 months ...has that even kicked in yet???
I keep ear infections and sinus/upper respitory infections and i usually go to my regular dr unless i already have an appt with my rummy…they can both give antibiotics but the family dr is cheaper!!!hope you get better soon.
I have a right ear infection about every 3 months my dr usually prescribes antibiotics. I have been in the hospital a couple of times when the infection wouldn't clear up. It can take plaquinil a while to completely kick in every body is different. hope you git better soon. call your doctor and see what he says mine has got so used to my problems he will call in a prescription with out my going in.
he ordered me Amoxil - I don't know if its sinus or not but we will see if this works
I had headaches and ear pain with no other symptoms. Took antibiotics, saw ear, nose, and throat doctor. Finally was recommended by primary care to see my dentist. He sent me to oral surgeon who diagnosed severe TMJ. I had a bite guard made at my dentist. Wore it day in and out for 2 weeks and ear and head pain went away. And yes, of course lupus is linked to TMJ…
I had huge issues with TMJ in my younger years. I had my wisdom teeth pulled and it worked wonders. Last year a root to my veey back molar broke. It hurt of course but I favored it so I wouldn’t have too many issues. I started getting stabbing, terrible pains in my ear. My jaw started popping and hen my temple, backof my head, and down my neck stared hurting. I was on pain killers and several courses of antibiotics. Nothing helped. I finally had that back tooth pulled. It made so much of a difference. I still have popping in my jaw but I can take that, not the pain.
I do wanna mention that I have had a white spot on my ear drum for about 3 months or more. I have had some pains but not recently. All the ear infections I have had could have caused it but it does concern me. I have perforated an ear drum when I was 14 but it was the opposite ear. It was weird, I was holding my lil foster sister and she had her arms wrapped around my neck. I set her down but she didn’t let go. I went to stand up and I heard a pop but nothing hurt. I woke ip in the middle of the night with blood on my pillow and bad ear pain. I mention this because how easy it happened. Good luck with everything.
Hi, that could be a ear infection? But I would call the primary care doctor first…Beverly L.
I experienced that two weeks ago, I swallowed and had intense ear pain. Then I got this terrible cold and the sinus pressure was relieved. I hope the Amoxil helps you feel better : )
