I do acupuncture 3x/week, massage therapy 2x/month and eat a low-gluten, vegan diet. I went from 23 daily meds to 6. Got myself off the kidney transplant list naturally. Most importantly, I have a life again. It isn't the life I dreamed of...and I still have pain. I still have problems, but I'm a lot further from death than I was three years ago.
Thats very encouraging to hear, I am glad to hear that you are off the kidney transplant list, but sorry to hear you still have pain.
Dayzeerock. Does the acupuncture take pain away? I’ve been thinkIng about doing it. I see a chiropractor.
Thanks

I am just starting to mix traditional treatments with more natural holistic ones. I am seeing an acupuncturist once a month, a chiropractor once a month, and a massage therapist once a month. Since so often this disease is just about treating the symptoms until the current flare up is under control I am looking at some holistic ways to support my overall health. I take vitamin D supplements and I am considering raw shea butter for hair loss. Like you I am still finding my way with this the chiropractor has helped tremendously with the sinus infections and headaches. The acupuncture has helped with the pain management ( I have been taking a lot less pain meds and that also reduced my stress levels which as you know effects the lupus greatly. The massage just started out as a way to pamper myself a little but I noticed that my circulation and gait when I walk are better after an adjustment. I hope that helps. God Bless
Hello James,
Alot of members go for what dayzeerock mentioned below accupunture and low gluten diets which do help the system but if your going to try herbel remedies some can be more harmful to the system and advice is always needed on what your thinking of trying.
This link explains how they can be harmful.
