I was between 45 and 50 when my first strong lupus symptoms started (ones I was fairly sure were NOT caused by my fibro.) But when I was 16, right in the middle of doing my Junior & Senior years of high school simultaneously so I could graduate early, I came down with an extremely bad case of mono. I was sick for at least an entire month for the first round, and every time I’d try to resume my normal life, within a week or so I’d end up sick again - and that went on for about 4 months at least. And from then on, even before I developed thppe fibro & lupus, it seems like I was always dealing with some health problem or another: migraines, pneumonia, sinus infections …always something. So I have no trouble at all believing theres a causative connection between EBV and SLE, and I’ll be interested to see what comes up as it’s researched
I literally just read that article two days ago. I don't remember having mono - I know my sis did - but all my blood work for EBV came back positive.
Same here…bloodwork came back positive but I was never told I had it at any point.
My daughter has had a bad case of Epstein Barr. Since then I feel like she’s always got something brewing. I’m just starting my process of linking the symptoms and derm biopsies came pos for tumid lupus. How can I see if her symptoms are lupus related. They seem so random. And different from mine
I also tested positive for EBV when I was pregnant with my daughter. Was never told I had mono though. I have wondered about the link.
I had mono right after my senior year of high school.
