The last 24 hour urine I did showed 300 for level of protein; this was one of the markers the Rheumy has used for the Lupus diagnosis. The urine test I did last week was normal. Does it fluctuate like that if it is truly Lupus? Thank you!
Mine has fluctuated I have had protein in my urine the last couple of times I have went and my Rheumy had been watching it. Then a couple of weeks ago when I went it was normal. I have given up on trying to figure my body out.
Those of us with lupus are a puzzle! No protein in your urine though I would take as a good sign, that your kidneys are doing their job. That's a wonderful thing! Maybe they are spilling protein when in a flare, and working better when not in one? Is that possible? I would definitely have a chat with your doctor or the nurse, I have found nurses so very helpful over the years, and usually more open to fielding questions. If you figure out what helped you, please share. No one has any opinion on why I have nonvisible blood in my urine for the last 7 months. I am very open to helpful suggestions!

Thank you, both :). My GYN mentioned I was spilling protein when I had a hysterectomy last year (prior to going back to the Rheumy) so I mentioned it to him on our first visit and it tested positive about five months ago (300); he did not like this much. This last one (done last week) was "normal" - at least when I called, that is what the nurse said. I will certainly ask. Going for blood work today and my appointment is Thursday :). Looking forward to starting Plaquenil this week (hooty hoo!); will update you on that, as well. So glad you are there to ask these questions ... Hugs, Dee
