My Rheumy lives in the dark ages. I really need someone who is up on current therapy. I could also use a new PCP too. The BIG problem is that I am on Medicaid.

I went to the Rheumatology group that is by Morton Plant. My dr was a female and I think her name was Dr. Nagibiana. She was great and I really liked her. I moved from CLW in 2005. Hope that she is still there for you.

Thank you both for the ifo. I will check them out. I am desperate for some decent treatment. I spent Sat. night in the ER with vomiting, dizziness and a fever of 102. The nurses and PA were great, then the doctor came in and treated me like like I was only there to get drugs. I don't want more drugs. I have enough at home to take down 5 rhinos. My fiance was livid. I tried to tell him, that this happens to me all the time. He didn't believe me. Well now he has seen it first hand.
Would you consider going to Tampa? I go to the USF Clinic off of Fletcher Ave. These are the professor of their school of medicine and they are great! They are good with people and quite knowledgeable. They do research, so they are in the vanguard. What I like about it is that they have many specialties and they share the same patient file, so all the specialties see what everyone else is doing. They can be very specific into their specialty, which is good. Since it is a teaching clinic, the teacher sees you along with the students. With this I mean doctors doing their fellowship are the students.
I have been going there for awhile, and I love them. They are all great. They take both my insurance carriers. Let them know you have Lupus and they can schedule you with a doc with that specialty.

I see all my specialists at the Morsani Center. It is an hour's drive for me too, but I find it worth the trip. I am glad you had a good experience. Whom did you see?
My eyes are my last development. Interesting to note that while I asked for an ophthalmologist, I was impressed to note the Morsani Center has SO MANY specialties within that field, that it was incredible! So far I have seen 3 docs: eye lids, cornea, and specialty lenses. And the physicians really know their stuff!

Try doctor Charles Clay. He is pretty good. He took Amerigroup when I was on it, which is a form of medicaid.
Shelyrbeane, I had a bad experience last week at the er too. I go in with horrible stomach problems and first thing that came out the doctors mouth was he thought I was having pain medicine withdrawals. I was so offended. Come to find out, I have Pancreatitis. I was admitted and there for 5 days. Even after my diagnosis, he still said it could be part of what was going on and he wouldn’t even give me pain meds. The admitting doctor gave me serious pain meds to manage the awful pain. I was so greatful. I have problems with kidney stones too and have had er doctors not help me treat them. Passing massive stones without pain meds is not comfortable at all.
