Urgent Medical Help Needed

Hello Everyone. I am sorry to ask for help AGAIN. I am having severe pain in what I think is the top of my Fallopian Tube. It is on the right side and only three weeks ago I was taken to hospital with severe pain on the left side.

This pain feels exactly the same as the first time which escalated quickly and I bled heavily into my lower abdomen.

Also, Has anyone used a Medical Lawyer to advocate for them in order to have your rights taken seriously?

I am being accused of diverting my pain relief when in actual fact a Disability Worker stole my medication from the locked glove box of my car. She has been stood down and WILL face Court.

I am so tired of not being believed when I have been a 100% honest and have done nothing wrong.

Why don't they just ban opiates if they're so paranoid about prescribing it? I was prescribed it after I nearly bled to death from taking an anti inflammatory for only a few days.I did not ask to be put on opiates and had no idea you couldn't suddenly stop taking them. I was not put on a Contract or advised about anything other than they will help me to stay working for longer. Initially they were for severe back pain from a work related injury that requires surgery. The consequences of untreated chronic pain is well known and I was having trouble functioning at all.

Doctors have a Code of Conduct they must abide by as well as a Creed that they sign in order to keep their Registration.. They pledge to 'DO NO HARM and are directed to treat their patients with Respect and Compassion.

I do not get that at all. I am basically called a liar, even with supporting evidence they could look into.

I want to post more positive and humorous discussions but I feel like giving up atm.

I refuse to go through withdrawal and without any pain relief I would have no quality of life. The stress would cause me to have increased disease activity and my blood pressure becomes dangerously high.

Please accept my sincere apologies for taxing this support group a lot lately.

I am usually a giver, with a positive attitude however the last few weeks have been a real challenge,

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this and I truly hope I can give back soon.

Sinking - Please throw me a floaty!

Nic

Nic, big hugs, Take a deep breath. I just came on and saw your post. I totally agree with the reminder to "healers" to take their oath seriously!

Lower abdominal pain can be very serious. And with bleeding before? Perhaps you need a gynecologist or really good gastroenterologist to check you out? Where I am it's Sunday, so the ER is the only option I know of. Have you ever been told you have PCOS? When a cyst gets large, and self ruptures it can cause a lot of bleeding. If you are within your childbearing years, a pregnancy can be in a fallopian tube or elsewhere and worst case scenario is a rupture. Do you have a history of Crohns disease, divericulitis, other digestive concerns or still have your appendix? Thinking off the top of my brain.

With a spine injury needing surgery, sometimes nerves can scream in areas away from it, places you would not expect them to for that spine level. There is such a thing as deferred pain, the issue can be in one place and felt in another. Example, pain in gallbladder area from gyn issues.

I do suggest you go to the BEST ER near you. Even if it means another town. You need good care, right away. We are here to help each other, so post as often as you want, including vents or SOS. Make a call to someone to take you, or get an ambulance. Don't think about costs, YOU matter, and I'm really concerned for your well being.

post back when you are able please!

sending healing thoughts and prayers,

Louise

Nic,

With your history of bleeding with the pain, I would call for ambulance and be transported to the ER.

Ally

Agree with ER and calling 911, too serious to fool around with. Get a rope, tie a big knot in it and hang on honey, it's going to be ok. Thoughts are with you. Oh and get a lawyer, don't let that person get away with a thing, sometimes you just have to stand up and scream NO MORE!!

Take care and big hugs now call 911

Hi nicMic, I am not sure where you live but it sounds like you need a better doc, not a lawyer. Of course, I am not a lawyer but I have been a paralegal for a while and it doesn’t sound to me like you have a legal problem- you have a doctor problem. I am not sure what the DDU is but perhaps they have an ombudsmen office or someone else to take your complaints to? I will be praying that you get to feeling better soon. Hugs, Mary Beth

I agree that you need a new doctor who will take you seriously...no more excuses why you need the meds..you just need them!!!! Go find a doctor who will understand your illnesses and treat you will the respect you deserve!

Prayers for strength and healing are with you!

Lori

It takes a while to find a good doctor who will work with you. I battle with my rheumy because he is “old school” and doesn’t want me to be a partner in my care, he wants to just prescribe and not listen. That said, are you sure it’s your fallopian tubes? When I pass a kidney stone the pain is almost in the same area as it goes through the urethra. Although the pain typically starts in my back then moves to the front. I don’t know where you live but ask to see either a pain specialist or for a referral to a pain clinic. Hope you feel better soon.

I went in for bleeding and severe abdominal pain. They removed my perfectly healthy appendix because of a miss read CT scan. Turns out it was a cyst that had ruptured. I had a hysterectomy 10 yrs ago, so my right ovary was laying on my Appendix. Surgeon told me to go to my OBGYN, because there was a lot of scare tissue and another cyst. I had suffered from endometriosis for 15 years before he finically agreed to do my hysterectomy at 33. Went to see him, his brilliant idea, put me on the pill. It’s been 2 months since I 1st went in for the pain and I am still having the server cramping. When it gets unbearable I take a hydro, about once a week.

Hopefully you find a compassionate Doctor and some answers!

A pain management program may be your best bet as they can educate on different methods of pain control in addition to or instead of pain medications. But with a ruptured L-5 with excrutiating pain I have to wonder what you are doing with horses I am a past horse owner of many years and I had to give it up when my back failed.

Please look into www.uspainfoundation.org I ran into it on Facebook, and only because Pain is a lifelong problem for me, because Mayo told me on this same regimen I do not use enough, because Johns Hopkins came out a few decades ago saying "One does not have to be fatally ill, dying, in order to receive pain control, and because we could (are that blessed) I got so much information from this group: including the fact that you likely can get a Pain Ambassador to accompany you, help you, and explain to ignorant people the danger of your pain, that you actually have real illnesses. I figured this out, because after reading their info. It was apparent they offer individuals like us, when we can, the opportunity to help fellow sufferers like you. My Prayers and Blessings go our to you, and I would write more , but I am in a nasty flare myself now. I’ll keep my eye open though. I hate Sjogren’s so much, but it is
My Lupus that frightens me. Love Always, Lizzie burtiebee

I am not feeling well tonight or I would write more. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I agree with poobie pain management dr is the way to go. If someone stold my medicine my dr would be outraged at the person who took it and he would make sure I had more medicine right away. He keeps me well informed and we make decisions together. I dont think any dr should make you feel the way you do right now. There are good doctors and bad doctors. Which one do you have?

the government seems to have really cracked down on opiates and doctors who prescribe them, as of this year. That is part of what is going on.

That being said, you are out of meds, you don't seem to be able to tolerate over the counter stuff, and you need help. Don't medicate before going in. and private message the person who says they know the magic words to say in order to be taken seriously.

All my best- chronic pain is... sucky.

not being listened to, very sucky.

having chronic pain and not being listened to or treated - i can't even find a sucky enough word to describe it.

keep knocking on doors until you get the help. and if you are a praying person, pray for help with all the sincerity you can muster. that has come through for me more than once, in miraculous ways, even tho I never go to church anymore. :) guess God isn't keeping attendance.

wow, i will leave this to the people who understand that better than me. I will have to say I agree with the 911/ambulance. I also agree with looking for a better doc.

You are in my prayers! I hope all of this get resolved quickly for you.

I have to agree with Ann- you have many problems one of which appears to be a dependency on narcotics. Somehow you need to get a handle on this - just wishing to have more drugs is not the solution. Its not clear how long or at what dose of oxy you have been on from your posts- if only a few weeks then you will not suffer severe withdrawal- just resurgence of pain But I can say that 40 mg of oxycodone you took before going to the ER is a HUGE dose- normal dose is 5-10 mg I'm not surprised they didn't prescribe more A pain management specialist or a psychiatrist would be your best bet at this point.

Hopefully you can get a handle on this soon- living with chronic pain is no fun

Just read a past post where you stated you take 200mg oxycodone daily- so yes you are going to have withdrawal All the more reason to get under the proper specialist's care or to an inpatient detox unit. Also with the correct doctor to manage your care your pain can be better controlled It is a specialty and long term use of a short acting narcotic is not the standard as well as long term use can lead to tolerance and less effectiveness. This is not something that is managed by your family doctor. Hoping you can get a better handle on your medical care.

Hope you get some relief soon, I talked to you when you first started having problems. Wish there was something we could do for you as I know pain is a horrible thing to deal with especially when you have been on pain meds for a while. The doctor should be ashamed of himself, calling the police, unbelievable. If you can get a pain management referral asap that would help, they do try to make things better ,wean you off of the medication and give you something else that wouldn't require a narcotic rx. There are many meds out there that are non narcotic and not anti inflammatories that work well. Hope you can find someone to help you. My heart goes out to you. Snowwolf
