One VERY important thing about turmeric and curcumin that you have to do.. you need to take black pepper with it. It's not easily absorbed into the body but the pepper opens up your cells to receive it. So tonight I myself am drinking turmeric tincture and black pepper in water. It doesnt taste that bad honestly you dont even taste the pepper. But its CRITICALLY important to add pepper. Who knew?? lol I just read it online tonight.
I buy organic turmeric tincture. It's not very expensive . somewhere around $10 a bottle which lasts a long time. It's called full spectrum planetary ayurvedics. And don't forget to add black pepper!!! You must add that or the benefits of turmeric/curcumin will go down the drain.
Will do, liz. I’m just waiting to get my hands on that tumeric tea my friend said he found. =)

I finally got hold of my organic turmeric granules which i can make tea from. I put a little honey. Just what liz said and the store owner told me - put a little black pepper into the tea. It doesn’t taste as bad but i don’t like the taste as much either. I think i have to get used to it first before i could say that i like it. Will keep you posted for any improvement with the aches i’ve been feeling lately.
You could also order capsules online and put the turmeric and pepper in a capsule and take it like a pill. http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Healthy-Foods-Double-00-Gelatin-Caps-750-Empty-Capsules/891 They ship world wide. Also there is where you can get curcumin, the strong version of turmeric. My sister uses it for her lupus pain and is so happy with it.
Thanks for the link, sheila. I read through it and it was very helpful.

Just an update. I’ve been taking turmeric tea and the aches I’ve been feeling every morning have been minimized if not gone all together. I think taking turmeric tea has helped me a lot with the inflammation that was causing me too much discomfort every morning. It’s effective! Worth a try.
Puffy face??? Me too!
Hi Piper Sis,
Cortisone causes puffy face. Technically called "Moon Face". That is just AMAZING and wonderful news that turmeric takes away your pain!! So much better for you than prescriptions, and cheaper too!
God is good. I was told I'd have to wait 6 months to get into a specialist after my heart attack, but finally he saw my papers, and realized I was in serious trouble and should have been in there right away, so he wants me in the hospital first thing tomorrow morning. I have to hire a lady to take me in a wheelchair because I can't walk the distance in the hospital, but again, I was blessed enough to get the appointment on a rare day that this lady COULD help me. It's just sad that I have to pay for this, when a friend would do it for nothing. Maybe she'll say she doesn't want to be paid. She is a friend as well as a housekeeper, but after her taking 3 hours to do a 45 minute task today, I won't be having her back to clean house again. It was the most expensive job of vacuuming and sweeping that I ever paid for just because of all the time she took. Oh well, God will help us find someone trustworthy and faster.
Bless you,
Sheila
Hi sheila. So nice to hear from you again. Please keep us posted on how your check-up went. Hope you feel better soon. Will pray for you tonight. (((hugs)))
Sorry to hear about your housekeeper. Why did it take her too long to finish a 45-minute work?

Hello everyone. I have also had excellent luck with Turmeric but what I'm totally amazed by is that I decided last week that starting Monday I was going to really get serious about trying to get this in remission. I found through this site information on the Anti-Inflammatory Diet. I bought the book that was written by Dr. Robin Shapiro and I have to tell you that already - in 4 days I feel a difference! I have cut out all glutens and am 90% eating ONLY fresh foods - have eliminated potatoes and tomatoes especially since they're night shade foods. I've lost 3 pounds and am not as swollen in the mornings and achy at night. The sweet cravings have stopped as well. I am totally excited and looking forward to next week and the week after and so on! It really is true - you are what you eat!
That sounds great, jan. I’m still trying to find out what food has gluten. Honestly, i have no idea. I’m like studying things right now. Nightshades seem to have no effect on me… So i’m curious about the gluten stuff. I’m studying those and my body too.

Hello Piper!
I have noticed a huge difference - I haven't eaten any potatoes or breads, pastas - that type of thing and I feel good! This has given me inspiration to keep going - if I've felt the difference in just a little over a week I can't wait till a month and so on! I made a mistake about who wrote this Anti-Inflammatory diet - it isn't Dr. Shapiro, its by Jessica K. Black, N.D and is called The Anti-Inflammation Diet and Recipe Book. It's available through Amazon if you have access to it.
