My hair was growing back on top, and it was like the other times where it does the same cycle. The last couple weeks I have a new thing going on. It started as a small red circle and has quickly spread to a large bald, red area. And it's like the skin in that area is thicker?? I saw someone at the local office, but he wasn't very knowledgeable. He did try kenalog injections, but it hasn't made a difference. My derm is on maternity leave, so I can't see her for several weeks. I tried calling her nurse but I haven't heard back.
I guess I am especially upset because it's my daughters wedding in a few months. It has to be a Lupus thing?
I went to a trichologist, a specialist in hair thinning and falling out. She used a liquid on my hair and it stopped my hair from falling out, the best 85.00 treatment I spent, now my hair is getting thicker. I just need to go back.
most have fill in doctor when they are out...if it has been more than 3 days since you called, call and ask for appt with your doctor when she comes back or fill in the doctor if they have time.
It does not have to be lupus at all...but i do know from friends who have hair loss issues that STRESS only makes it worse. example, in high school we had bad earthquake, friend lost all her hair due to stress and anxiety she felt about it. Try to relax...i know it is hard especially when you want to look best for your daughter's wedding. Buy an beautiful hat so if you lose too much hair, you at least will have it to wear or a professional wig in new shade cut and color you always longed to try!
I make 1st none will make it worse..doubt the hat would but wig could. Hopefully the fill in doctor can call her if needed but most likely they should be able to help you...but i get into dermatologist if your reg one is off 6 months for maternity leave...guessing as that is normal amount of time. I know all my doctors if off that long had replacements or fill in ones and if not that even...i ask for one their office recommends since you like to look nice for the wedding. I think that is important occasion where i push a bit more than just do not want hair loss.
But try to find a beautiful hat! Custom one by milliner in your area or closest largest city near you. Go online and search for milner...my grandmother was one and glue gun now days you can make nice ones but having a felt hat or wool fitted and moulded than designed...luxury experience in my eyes....like custom shoes or jewelry!
Hope your hair does start returning on it's own....i listen to very calming music all day...do what relaxes you them most every day too...a lot of it. I wish you the best on the wedding too!
I think it's a lupus thing. I have 3 bald spots on the top of my head. each is the size of a quarter and my hair is thining. I cant do much with it but my hair dresser makes it look full.
Congrat on your daughter's wedding. If you have your hair done for the wedding your hair dresser probably can make it look great.
My hair was thinning too. Then I went to a trichologist,is the branch of dermatology that deals with the scientific study of the health of hair and scalp, a person specializing in hair loss and she put a treatment in my hair, that has grown my hair and made it thick. Sorry, I don't know what treatment she used.
