The joy of walking

Thanks Elaine!

I pictured your description and it sounds beautiful. Keep walking and enjoy nature it sounds like its helping you forget your pain if only for a while.

I love walking, especially at sunset! You're so lucky to have such a beautiful area to walk in so close to you. :D

Hope you're feeling well on this lovely day!

Just wanted to share... I did not do any exercise today, but I did get up and go grocery shopping in the moderate 80 heat. I felt brave and happy, as my daughter and I sprinted into the grocery store from the car and back to the car quicker then the other patrons. We laughed.

I felt accomplished and less lazy today. Does anyone else have flares during their menstrual cycle? This seems to happen often for me.

Hi Unshorenandscared,

Grocery shopping is surely a 'hike'! Then add the lifting, twisting, lugging, it's a total gym workout! Don't sell yourself short girl!! LOL! And sprinted to boot! Hip, hip, horray for you!!

The gals on the Fibro and Psoriatic site do, they talk about it often!

Sounds like you had a good day, always great to have a laugh with your children!

Hugs,

SK

Thanks...

Hi SK,that's how i feel !!! my name is Beverly L., and i enjoy the things more now than ever. Am always telling my 6year old granddaughter , " Thanks for helping me and i will dance at her weding in the wheelchair', then she say grandma you won't be in a wheelchair, and we laugh !!! But it is good that you are walking even with pain( i do the same - sometimes ) . It's like you see things that has always been there - but that you don't take the time to really notice it !!!! smile Well you just keep on walking through the pain(s) and free time, enjoying the beauty that you now see and keep smileing ..... BeveryL.

Hi Beverly!

Nothing like those beautiful grandkids to keep you going, they make you get up, get out of your pain and 'LIVE"! My house looks like Toys are Us! HA! I have stuck much of my decorative stuff in the attic to make way for cars, trucks, helicopters, books, games, movies and everything imaginable!

When they come, they come for days, takes me, my Mom, my husband to handle them, but we want to do it while we still can, they scream, beg and bawl to come, and to stay!

I think besides 'eat' the first words out of the 2 year old's mouth was 'outside'! Bikes, wheel barrows, sand box, toy lawn mowers, you name it...

When they are not so busy, they walk the yard with me to check on the flowers, trees, vegetables, are always so excited to see a chipmunk or find a bird's nest! Of course they are always wanting to get the hose out and water, hubs has put in a sprinkler system that has eliminated much of that work, so I don't have to drag the hose or carry the water as much! Oh yes, I have clothes, shoes and boots for them and the washer and bath tub are always busy! Nothing like coming to 'Mim's house'!

Cherish the moments! So nice to talk to you Beverly!

Sending my best,

SK

Hi SK, yes to cherish the momnt (s) is something that i enjoy doing when there is pain going on !!!!LOL They do make me smile and laugh a lot ...LOL It is nice to chat with also .... Take care and stay pain free..... Beverly L.

Well, not to spoil the beautiful mental picture I painted just days ago about walking, I have to tell you there is little joy in walking today. I felt great yesterday, did not over do in anyway, did take a short walk around the yard early, the heat did not bother me, watched Jeopardy, made myself a cup of tea, decided to just lay down on the couch a moment while it cooled, get back on line with you, woke up about 1:30 am, my body was screaming.

I have a good sofa, have slept on it in comfort more than once, so that was not the problem, was flat on my back, as I sleep, so that was not the problem. Did not want to take the Opana as I need to get to the lab, not supposed to drink until I get up in am, and then 2 glasses of water, and need to drive. Tried to play it off this morning... HA!

My back, meaning SI and tailbone, my wrists, left knee, foot, ankle are just RAMPED, even my right ankle, and foot that never bothers me is killing me, all swollen, the balls of the feet are huge!! Lots of fun getting shoes on!

Had jasmine rice and yellow squash from our little garden (organic) for dinner, didn't want meat, neither should have caused problems, so maybe barometric pressure, and maybe I will never have the reason why. I hate to take narcotics, GP wants me to take them as a maintence, I will only take them when the pain is intractable, and it is just about there! I don't want to be a pill junky, want to be clear headed with my grandkids.

I know that the stenosis can do some wicked things, and it is always the worst when it is bad, but this is surely a Psoraitic Arthritis thing, skipped a flare and went right into a torch!!!

I try not to complain too much on line, but this is just rotten! Well, I just took the Phenergan, have to wait at least 30 minutes before taking the morphine, so I don't throw it up. Hope it will help.

You know Terri is not well, said she needs her Lupus meds, not sure why she doesn't have or can't get them! I took this position to help Terri, I love her dearly as a friend, expressed all of my concerns, and she still wanted me, I want to do all I can for her, and all of you, should I be off line for a while, please be good to each other and take care of each other.

You know JC and Scott are always around should you need them, but I plan to be here, hate the thought of being unreliable, just goes against my grain!

Hugs,

Susan

Wishing you all well,

Susan
