Stroke or Brain lesion

Cameron, that all sounds so challenging. But I guess we all have to do what we have to do. I guess if we were to plan out our life, we would choose things to be different than they are . Thanks again for the details. Take care .

Sorry Grace that it took me so long to respond...you know Lupus...lol...I had ITP in 1985 and had my spleen removed every since then I have had large platelets...now does that matter I don't know...but it seems that it does....Yes I do believe that the Dr. does believe that the clotting issues is due to the platelets so if that is the case then it is associated to Lupus...but about 6mos to a year ago there was another member on here that works with a neurologist and she said that people with Lupus were getting strokes and then TIA....I am on warfarin ...I will be on it all my life ...does it stop the clots...NO...;I was going to the hospital so much that I was getting so much radiation that now when I get a TIA I stay home if the big one comes...nothing is going to stop it....You may want to tell your dr...that they are studying strokes and Lupus ...so that he/she knows what is going on...I got my first stroke 2010 at age 56...I hope this helps....if you have any more questions ...just ask not a prob....were all in the same boat....hugs Bernice

upus? Was the white matter considered a brain lesion? Well I was told in the ER I had a stroke. Then the neurologist said no, it's a lesion. The rheumatologist said it's not lupus related but a stroke. So I'm not really sure what to think. I have follow ups with both dr. But I thought I would ask everyone or anyone for input that might be good to know. Thank you for sharing your situation. Are you on meds to prevent others? How did you know you had TIAs? What happened when you had your strokes?

Hey Bern, that’s why I have to take both Warfarin and Aspirin. I had a stroke with a 3.0 INR and that is when they found the APS which led them to look for the Lupus and other stuff.

To Bern, and Cameron, all I can say is wow, that is so much to take in. I need to digest that for a while. Do either of you expect much from your rheumatologist ? I am meeting with my new one on tues. , but truthfully I really don’t know what I expect from him. I’m leaning on finding out more from my neurologist.
