Starting cellcept

so I went to my first appt. with the rhumey and he wants me to start cellcept. He said he want to bring my anti dna level down so we are trying this first to see if it works well for me. my anti dna was at 50 so I guess that's high im not really sure but im wondering if anyone else has or is taking cellcept?

I started it a few weeks ago. So far it makes me have dry mouth. I asked about it too but did not get much of a reply. I hope you do! I was on another immunosuppressive before, but it was not working. I hope this one works for us.

I credit cellcept for putting me into remission so I can’t say enough good about it. The initial side effects (nausea, hair loss) were annoying but well worth the end result. Good luck!!

PLEASE BE CAREFUL THAT YOU KNOW THE SIDE EFFECTS. ASK YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE YOU TAKE IT!!!!!

OH, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT. I THOUGH I HEARD IT ALL!!! YOU ALL KNOW I RAN A LUPUS AWARENESS GROUP OF 200 OR MORE. I HAVE SEEN MANY THINGS BUT NEVER THIS CELLCEPT.

JUST BE CAREFUL.

I ALREADY HAVE HAIR LOSS, BUT, IT MUST BE CHEMO YES OR NO??? EDUCATE ME PLEASE??????

so you say initial side effects, so I assume they go away. he wants me to start with on a day for a week then two a day for a week and then 3 a day for forever. Im asking because I just cant deal with something that is going to make me sick.

I to credit cellcept for getting things under control..I had no clue my kidneys were failing until I went to see my family Physician he had bloodwork and urinalysis done needless to say my next appointment I was stunned when he asked me how long had my kidneys been failing ...I was then sent to a kidney specialist a biopsy was done along with bloodwork.I was put on high doses of steroids and as most will agree I was miserable from them along with cellcept and plaquinil..after a period of time I was taken off the steroids and the cellcept was doing its job..my kidneys aren't 100% but they are stable and I thank God everyday!
