Just wanted to say, I applied for ssdi in 10/2013 I was approved on 1/31/2014. I wasn’t expecting approval this quickly after reading blogs where it takes sometimes years to be approved. I did use an advocate group from the original app date, I do feel this made the process go smoother. I live in state of Florida, have worked for 30 years, 51 years of age, I have lupus, ITP, Fibro, Sjergens, along with other medical issues. I was officially diagnosed 4/2013.
That is awesome! I was also approved quickly, last day of work was August, applied in September and was approved in October. I had no group and applied on line. Erin, you should try again and never give up because that’s what they’re counting on. They know most people are too sick to fight and so they deny expecting you not to appeal.
Congratualtions! I was also approved quickly. I was having to many seizures to be able to work. I have worked for thirty year's on and off but my seizures started getting out of control. Being under stress from work would be caused of many of times which brought a seizure on.
Hi Kathy! I am in FL, too. You mentioned SSDI ... did you mean Social Security disability? I started my application yesterday and am hoping/praying for the same response. Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs, Dee
I was diagnosed in 12/2013 and approved on 8/2013 it scared me it was so quick I thought I was dying smile but I’m grateful it’s enough for me to live on because the stress from my job was effecting me badly. I’m a substance abuse counselor with a caseload of 23 and mountains of paperwork. My last day at work is 2/21 l love what I do but I guess god will use me for something else
I was officially diagnosed with SLE feb 5th 2014. I have been battling lupus for years, but I neglected it and needed to start from scratch again. My SLE has taken over my life… I can’t work because it adds so much stress mentally. Especially when I’m having a rough morning of high blood pressure, extreme fatigue, and nausea. So I’m in the process of filing for ssd and working with a case worker to make sure it’s organized correctly. Is there any advice I need to make sure this goes through?
I see my rhumy every month, bloodwork every three weeks. I also see 4 other specialists, I really think this helped support my case. I take alot of meds daily also, up to 17 per day.I have lupus sle, fibro, ITP, sjorgens, depression (doc claims predisone usage cause depression, I have been taking for years) I also would let rhumy know symptoms I have on my visits. Hope this helps and goodluck to you.
Please review the new lupus website; lupusofnevada.org As you stroll down tap in face book and check like or dislike. More information every month will be on the site.
You were approved while you are still working? that is awesome....
