Skin Laser and Flares!

I have been approved by my rheumy to get skin laser done on my face, chest, back, legs and arms to remove precancerous, liver and Keratosis spots and to give me back the firmness to my skin. However it can cause a flare according to all the research that has been done. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this done and how did it effect them! I have Cutaneous and SLE.

I had some laser done on my face before I was diagnosed with cutaneous lupus. It didn't help me and it seemed like everytime I had a treatment I would break out afterwards. After that I had blue light therapy and that worked really well for me. It seemed to stop the progression of breakouts on my face. I had four treatments and then I got diagnosed and have been on plaquinel since and have had very little problems. I would consult with your dermatologist before doing anything.

Thanks Terry. The main reason is because of the skin cancers! I have all three of them and the laser will remove any precancerous spots, however, it may cause me to flare. Just wanted to reach out to see if anyone else has had it done.

Hi Deenie,

I've never add it so sorry i can't help but ste's son as add this done but he does'nt have Lupus otherwise he's been ok and i can totally understand your concern about it causing flaring.

I really hope your Dermo can help you and discuss all the issues involved in better detail. :)
