Hello Grace, I am sorry to hear you have shingles and I am sorry to hear about the other problems you are experiencing also, my brother had shingles a year ago and he was in excruciating pain, he was crying and everything and he is a 53 year old man, he kept apologizing for crying in front of us like a baby but with the pain my brother was in I totally understand how you and he was feeling, it is also a shame that it takes so long for a claim to be processed we work non stop constantly and when we need our money the government gives us a hard time and makes us wait for ever, but our bills don’t wait! I slept until 1 pm. Wide awake now. Lol
Iam on those medications, and why vicodine did not come to mind, but it is now.
I was awoken by sharp stabbing & burning pain @ 1 a.m. and thought this is not like chicken pox, its like a severe burn, feels like after having surgery, my skin streatching abd its gonna rip open, stabbing, but not like chicken pox, maybe later when the “itchy scratchy” comes.
My blisters seem like they stopped growing. Looks almost like when I had bullous phemphigiod, but its shingles, its on one side. So guess thats a good thing.
I guess the feels of soreness never go away.

that was drug i was given as well.....as to pain level...as long as i had no clothes on or very baggy it was painful but not that horrible....but we all handle different kinds of pain differently. For me, cramping as like period ones...just killed me and i passed out almost every month. So i hope you are more like me and pain will not be too bad..and i really hope you do not have them that long!

Please accept my sincere understanding of how miserable shingles can make you feel. I will never forget the day that I first felt shingles. It was just before Thanksgiving and I had spent the day cooking and baking. I fell asleep on the couch in the family room. I awakened in the middle of the night because my mouth hurt so badly. My first thought was that I had burned myself while cooking. I tried to handle it by myself for much of the next day. But it was so painful that I called my dentist office - you know - mouth pain and dentist sort of go together.
I was prescribed the Acyclovir and some liquid lidocaine (I was already taking hydrocodone and gabapentin for my back pain). I felt much better over the next couple of days - even though it was not a great way to spend Thanksgiving). It was the next month when my severe vitamin D deficiency was diagnosed and that was why my immune system was weak enough for the shingles virus to be activated.
I do not have any recommendations for faster healing. And boy do I wish I new how to get the bureaucracy to do a better job of responding to human pain. I just wanted to share my sincere wish that you will feel better soon. You have a lot going on in your life right now and things like this always seem to strike when stress is already high.
So I just wanted you to know that I will read as much as you care to write and that I am keeping you in my prayers. I wish I could do more.

Good morning Terri, well no, regarding phone call. Im trying not to stress on it, but umm, rent is due, etc and still those lazy people probably had an easter potluck lasting all day. Trust me, I started off ny State of California job at the Statd Disability Office, so I know the manager there, shes not a very good one, i just called and tgeir automated recording is still om. Its Saturday so no reps arebhsy . Lol
All i can do is laugh.
Feeling a bit better, but sore. Had some moving to do.

You still would think someone respond at least with abit of respect this as been going on now a fare bit from when you first told me and for an answering machine they must have the weekend off but if she's there the least she can do is show some certacy.
You'll be sore for quite a while yet but as long as your mentally laughing keep it up but just don't get going soft on we ....take it easy with the moving but good of your friend to help.
Regarding me got aload going on through lots overlapping with one thing or another and depression, just finding it mentally hard in the last week :)

You want to get that out your arm or have someone look at it to see if they can see it and get it out with some tweezers because as soft as it sounds, something so small can cause infection and that's all you need ontop....yes make sure your sister checks it.
