My rash recently returned & my pain level is through the roof. I’ve never felt this bad. My legs feel like a ton of bricks are weighing them down. The muscle spasms & cramps have me in tears every day. The fatigue is just too much. I’ve been down in bed for the last week. I went to the ER because I couldn’t take the pain anymore but the ER Dr addressed everything but what I came in for. I don’t have hypertension but upon arrival at the hospital my blood pressure was 180/100 glucose was 245 and I’m not a diabetic. ER Dr made me feel like a complete utter dumb butt.
Hi trashetta,
I'm sorry to say but your in a chronic flare and these can stretch up to 6wks and more but if flares and the rash you have get to bad...don't bother with ER, speak if possible to get in with your rheumo ASAP or your GP.
Love & hugs Terri :)
Thanks Terri!! I tried to get in with my rheumatologist & my primary care doctor but they are both on vacation. I’m gonna try & stick it out until they return.

Oh how crazy is it to just see a Dr.! Either they are booked up, out of town, or their. partners don't know enough about you so they would risk rocking the boat to make any real changes. Worst of all is being told to go to the ER if this gets worse. As you can tell I've been there. So very sorry you are there now. Pamper yourself and do whatever can to give yourself some comfort. Put in a funny movie, laughing or just forgetting for a while does help. You will get through this.
Thanks so much tactech!! It just ease my mind to know that someone has experienced what I have.
I’m sorry. you’ve been feeling so poorly for so long Trashetta. sounds like something triggered a severe flare . do you keep a journal of your symptoms? this helps me pinpoint triggers. I hope the coming week finds you feeling better. just go with it and rest thru the flare if you can. hugs !~Mare
Trashetta I understand what you are going through I have been to the point where I felt like death was upon me. The only way I got through the worst flare ever was prayer and faith. I realized stress was my worst trigger. I was going through something very stressful. I prayed for peace and had faith that God would give me that. I tried keeping a positive attitude. Had my daughter and grandson over, he always did things that would have me laughing and not focused on my pain. Talking to my daughter and friends, about anything other than me and how I was feeling really helped. Yes I learned the hard way about going to the ER. The can do nothing. I pray that the chronic flare you are in will cease and you will be back to your “new normal”. Please believe that. God Bless hugs and kisses to you.
Some ER Drs are just stupid and crazy. Well the blood pressure is up and the blood sugar due to your PAIN.
Oh boy!!! The ER Drs. Never know nothing about Lupus., well I take that back, maybe a few oh them Might! But if you can help it Try not to go there , it is a waste of time, next time you visit your doc., or primary, ask them to give you some form of pain meds to have on hand . That is what I do, try it? When I was diag, I sent alot of Time in the ER-my daughter use to go with , and after sitting there so long for them to tell me you got to see your primary doctor, drove her up the wall , so now she just take and come and pick me up , she don’t wait at all…LOL. But it is okay because my son will sit with me forever, no matter what !!! Having grown kids(adults), it is funny at times-smile Well I hope that you have gotten some kind of comfort/relief for the pain, prayers go out to you!!!..Beverly L.
Thanks for the encouragement Beverley!! I will try to stay positive!!
Hi!, no problem-my aunt and my only sister has always said to me,"if you don’t expect something , disappointment of things to work out won’t be hard on you, because you did not have expections of whatever to turn out good or bad!!.. So not to call people names or classify anyone but if that is what it is then , we can use up our positive engery trying to figure out why things did not/don’t end the way we think it should!!! So I have learned to just go with the flow of the moment, (in other words), Keep it moving, take care…Beverly L.
Hope that everything work out for you…smile
All those ARE symptoms of acute pain. Even I know that! And I hear you. There are days...but sooner or later those days also pass. Hang tight.
Praying for relief and wellness.
