Several people have asked me for information about the "paleolithic" dietary plan. I use the term as an umbrella for several dietary plans that share a common theme. They are all controversial, so I have provided links to a few of them and to sites where they are critiqued.
Proponents
- The Westin Price Foundation Dietary Guidelines - The Westin Price Foundation refers to its dietary guidelines as reflecting a "traditional" diet. What gets many people riled up about this approach is the extent to which it promotes the benefits of saturated fats. http://www.westonaprice.org/basics/dietary-guidelines
- Loren Cordain is often cited as the founder of the paleo diet movement and he claims that his site is the original. http://thepaleodiet.com/
- Robb Wolf is another author who promotes the paleo approach http://robbwolf.com/what-is-the-paleo-diet/
- An interesting interview on the synergy of Crossfit and paleodiet from Nerdfitness http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/10/01/interview-with-the-paleo-kitchen-and-a-crossfit-instructor/
- Paleohacks is a website devoted to answering questions about "paleodiet" approaches. http://paleohacks.com/#axzz2NdT9cVr2
