Anyone out there dealing with Lupus fog? I think it is a new symptom (well actually been dealing with it for a while). I am really trying to hold on to my employment, but I am afraid if I tell my employer about this condition, I will risk losing my job of 15 years. Suggestions for treatment and how to deal with the employer issue? Much appreciated!
I get the fog too it’s horrible!! It does affect me so much that I can’t do anything and have to go to sleep… I don’t think there’s any treatment I havnt found anything that helps it apart from sleep so I’d like to know if there’s anything we can do aswell… About your employment I’m not sure because they could discriminate but then again if your boss is understanding you could get help at work to make things easier for you… It’s a tricky one…
Oh my goodness, I have this severely.. I can't concentrate for long at all, I get lost in a conversation that I'm in... However, I did tell my boss so she would be patient and would understand why when she asked me to do something I somehow forgot all about it.. I would suggest be open with your boss, and hopefully they will be understanding and it'll take some pressure off of you. And the positive thing is like Cayleigh said, they can't discriminate against you. Good Luck
well in good ole alabama it is hire and fire at will so i lost mine, i did not have a diagnosis at that time so i lost my job, but it was the best thing that ever happened really because i was killing myself and now that i look back i dont know how i did it. i am just hoping to get disability so my nerves wont be shot over money - i would tell my employer if i were you, you have a serious disease and they should have to accomodate you as if you were disabled as well. i think if i had known just how sick i was instead of missing work for the "little" things all the time he would have been more understanding but then again people just dont care about people anymore. Except us guys on here of course, this forum has been my life line to be honest, i have learned so much now i think we know more than some doctors do!!
My fog varies with what is happening in my life. I have found that it is worse when I am tired or stressed. I have also found that at times it is due to my time in the sun or at work under the fluorescent lights. To help with some of the fog, I take ginkoba. I have found this helps enough that when I forget to take it, the fog is bad. I hope this might help a bit.
