Lupus flare and sed rate

I'm confused. I have both "inflammatory arthritis" and fibro. Last week I had some kind of flare up and felt terrible! I had my sed rate taken since I was sure it would be sky high. It came back normal: 16. Is a lupus flare always accompanied by a high sed rate? Does a fibro flare respond well to prednisone? I took prednisone for 3 days and felt better. Somebody please help me understand...

thanks,

rosie

Most doctors will want a change in your inflammatory markers before changing your treatment Prednisone makes everything feel better including those things not lupus related. So often what we think might be a 'flare' is just a virus or allergies or such but we all have a tendency to jump the gun with this illness
